Channelled my disappointment with some MSPaint copying & pasting (and yes I did gratuitously rip off someone else idea from twitter!!!!!)

Just posted this on a well known website so it's gonna go viral I think. IMO you should have put Mundine's face instead of Nasser's as he is more recognisable.

The rules of boxing plainly state that when a boxer can not defend himself. The fight has to be stopped. Williams in the last minute of that fight had 7 shades beat out of him and all he could do was hug Botha and not defend himself. Why was the fight not stopped?

Boxing...the UFC's best marketing tool.

I haven't watched a boxing match since I paid for the Green V Dews or whoever his name was snooze fest.

People like Don King, Mundine, Nasser etc have well and truly put boxing in the grave.

I'm in Vegas at the moment and was talking to some hotel staff and they were saying its crazy now how people don't care so much for boxing in this town unless its a major fight. However whenever the UFC is in town, the place is insane no matter who's fighting. Apparently boxing is really on the way out.

I have no basis for it but I wold believe the UFC has very little fixing compared to boxing.

It's sad, I would much prefer to watch Boxing. Do not care for UFC at all.

Shame Barry Michael had to be part of the rubbish, the whole card made a mockery of a sport in which he and Lester Ellis gave their all in battles that had the crowd tossing coins

I was a mad boxing fan, trained at the pcyc, got the magazines...but boxongs corruption and bullshit and abc world titles pushed me to the ufc which I never cared for.

I'm now in love with the ufc as it is what boxing once was. Pure. One title and you basically fight the best or you can leave. No fighting bums to defend your title.

Boxing in the western world is dying, there can be no doubts about that. If you're under 30 and have any sort of a social life you'll know all too well that MMA is where it's at in most peoples eyes.

Boxing is getting weaker and weaker as old people die and babies are born. Boxing needs to sort it out and do something drastic because if they carry on with the same formula it's over for the sport as far as mainstream relevance goes.

Boxing would make 50 times as much money compared to the UFC.

While I agree that MMA is rising in popularity massively and boxing's interest is waning big one as well, the 2 still have a long long way to go before they switch places

I am hoping LU members didn't pay for this. I love boxing (not as much as I used too) and the UFC though I was never paying for this garbage. The posts in this thread confirm I made the right decision.

In the money stakes, yes, but that's all that is.

Where popularity is concerned, boxing more and more has nothing in the west. It's just a matter of time. The two have already switched places when you look at people 30 year old and under. It's a matter of a tick and tock, with every passing second boxing is losing massively to MMA. In 20-30 years time, boxing in some respect will be primarily a sport for pensioners and near-pensioners. Unless there's drastic changes to the way the sport is run.

MMA, notably the UFC, are doing everything right. The discussion is over on that front. It's not a matter of it for MMA, it's a matter of when. You couldn't possibly argue the MMA isn't going to overtake boxing, unless you live under a rock.

Boxing needs to get its shit together. Huge pay packets and token PPV sales mean bugger all in the grand scheme of things, in popular culture boxing is dying a death.

Except for Jones vs Sonnen.

I didn't get a chance to watch the fight live, but I knew something like this would happen. Botha might be washed up and old, but he is still a legitimate boxer.

Nasser couldn't let his boy get beaten so he fixed the fight. Unfortunately too common in boxing.

Apparently the 10th round ended early too. Khoder's response when asked about that?

"We've got the belt."
