Kieran Foran is a pipe dream IMO.
And why would we target him? We just signed Corey Norman.

Because we're Parramatta and desperate for another premiership or two or three or four.Kieran Foran is a pipe dream IMO.

Honestly we dodged a bullet with missing out on Papalii, no integrity whatsoever. Seems to be in trouble out on the grog. Enjoy Sticky lol.
Agree, though I suspect he might turn out to be a decent bloke in the long run. I think he's fairly misguided, but I don't think he's a malicious character.
He sounds perfect :lol:He wants to be a priest, seriously.
Interesting to see that our former 'signing' Pappali has managed to get himself 'robbed' within hours of arriving in Manchester. Guess he needed that signing bonus after all. Apparently he can't remember exactly what happened, but some blokes are 200 quid richer.Hopefully those blokes included a former hurdling champion.

When we signed Sandow he was the form halfback in the NRL. He was worth what we offered him when he signed.
Ryan and Harrison wouldn't be on much. They were both fringe first graders when they signed (re-signed in the case of Ryan).
Sandow is overpaid for what he's done since coming here, and Hayne is overpaid in any season where he doesn't play 20+ games. Likewise Tonga on his last contract, and probably Loko too. Interest from other clubs would have him on a big enough contract that we need a lot more from him than eight games a year.
And you think Ryan and Harrison are the ones blowing our budget? lol
With respect mate, that just doesn't make sense. There a fixed salary cap. What if we paid JH $4m a year? And tried to sign the rest of the team for the balance of the salary cap.
It's fine to talk about priceless assets, but the cap is measured in terms of $$, and there's a very simple relationship between what you spend on one player, and how much you can spend on the rest of the team. At some point, you have to say no.
I don't think Hoppa could ever have the same value to the eels as Hayne does, regardless of how good he might be purely because he isn't born and bred. Haynes worth every cent for marketing purposes alone.
I'm sorry, I don't agree. And really, 4 million dollars is just being silly.
So, what if I say that within reasonable limits Jarryd Hayne is priceless?
I think if you had someone like Cameron Smith in this years Parramatta side, with no other stars around him, he would not have anywhere near the impact of Hayne. Same for Thurston or Slater or Inglis or ....... (in my opinion only, of course.) In terms of the impact Hayne has on a team, I think he is the best player in the world. I therefor believe that whatever he is paid (within reason) is worth it. That's my reasoning.
I think Melbourne have shown that you can spend the majority of your cap on three players, and have the other positions filled with a rotation of decent players on moderate wages. I think this is one way of using the salary cap. There are other ways, of course. You can more evenly distribute the wages over a greater number of players (as Manly seem to do, and perhaps Cronulla).

Jarryd Hayne is worth whatever the hell he wants, the influence he has on our side is amazing. We're probably one of the only clubs who'd ever entertain the thought that it's not worth keeping our best player.
And this is why I made the original post....what if 'whatever he wants' is a truly ludicrous figure, that means we have no cap space left to sign anyone else of quality.
