Funny hearing some media calling him a future immortal. He is nowhere near immortal quality.

Couldn’t agree more. Great player with an awesome highlight reel but nowhere near a ‘game changing’ player you associate with those given immortal status. Add in the many games he was anonymous in(particularly after winning the comp in 14)& it’s hard to see him on that pedestal.

Exactly

In those dominant Storm and QLD teams people will almost always consider Smith/Slater and Thurston ahead of him. Inglis always had that reputation of being lazy. Bellamy said it was an easy choice to move him on in 2010. You could put a very legitimate claim on him being the best Rabbitoh in 2014 though.

Personally to be an immortal people have to undoubtedly agree they were the best of that time in their position or in general. Decades from now when people bring up the post Johns era just about everyone will say Thurston and Smith as being the best from that time. That’s what rules Inglis out.

On cotroversey corner last night, Rothfield said that "in regards to his next employment,we have to consider how GI is going to put food on the table for his kids".

When I heard this, I'm totally convinced that there is something seriously amiss with Rothfield. He really should see a doctor.

Why the f**k does the game lose a guy like GI but this massive wanker earns a living by trying to tear it down.

Going to be a long week when NRL 360 has the whole program about GI. As good as a player he was, fans of other clubs will quickly tire of this if they keep this up.

It sucks when champs like this don't go out with a final game. One of the strongest runners I've ever seen.

He did get a final game a couple of weeks ago v. The Dragons.

Mary was instrumental in sending him off with a win by not putting on the quick youngsters and target the attack down Inglis' side...

and the ungrateful prick hasn't even thanked him in his media circus of a retirement announcement.
