Tim Paine quits as test captain

I’m puzzled at you comparing a batsmen to a keeper on their averages? 35 is fine for a keeper, that’s what all the current keeping options average as well. The reality is Head isn’t guaranteed to even be in the team, you pick the best team and then pick the captain. But you want a bit of...

Tim Paine quits as test captain

That’s what’s done because typically the all rounder is the weakest batsmen, that’s not the case with Green. He bats at 4 for WA and averages over 50. He’s a genuine batsmen, his style is also suited to batting higher up the order, he’s an innings builder. He’s easily done enough at Sheffield...

Tim Paine quits as test captain

Head didn’t even play in our last test match, he’s a 50/50 selection at best. If Pucovski was fit he’d be in the team in front of him. I’d argue Maddinson should probably be there at no.6 and Green and no.5

Tim Paine quits as test captain

The issue is mostly the coverup. As I said, they could’ve got in front of this and admitted the mistake. I reckon he survives if they’d done it earlier. The texts look consensual to me, and she only complained about them once she’d been reported for theft. Although there’s the workplace factor...

Tim Paine quits as test captain

Paine was the worst tactical captain I’ve ever seen for Australia, an absolute muppet. It’s hilarious that cricket Australia built him up to be this good guy on the while knowing he’d sent dick pics. They had to know this would eventually leak, it’s just incredible no one thought to get in front...

    New stadium - 2025

You might get some wanderers FFA cup games, but the fan base were up in arms last time they had to go to Penrith. Which is ironic given their name. The club made overtures about buying the wanderers a few years back, but I think Gould’s relationship with Gallop ruled that out.

    New stadium - 2025

They should think outside the box for more uses. A couple of things off the top of my head, you could host big growers market festivals, given the proximity of Penrith to farms. You could build permanent restaurants into the stadium, ones with big event spaces. Overlooking a stadium would be a...

    New stadium - 2025

Even if you think our stadium is good now, what about in 10 or 20 years? A new stadium sets us up for 40-50 years.

    New stadium - 2025

I don’t see many other uses than Panthers games, really. Maybe you could host motorcross in the off-season, or smaller concerts. But any bigger events will go to the more centrally located stadiums.

    New stadium - 2025

A system like that would be good, that’s better than building a 30k+ stadium and having a huge amount of empty seats.

    New stadium - 2025

25k is perfect. There’s some room for growth, but not too much that it means a half empty stadium in leaner years. Unfortunately we won’t always be at the top of the table, and playing out of empty stadiums is a bad look. 25k will allow for some sellouts, better atmosphere etc. this creates...

    New stadium - 2025

I get some people are skeptical, but I think this stadium is a genuine chance with an election coming up and the deputy liberal leader trying to hold on to his seat.

    Tyrone May

The right decision. And I do hope the club offers him support, ultimately he’ll have strong feelings after this.

I was comparing it to something filmed with consent, which was later leaked to the public. If something was leaked to the public that was filmed without consent, that’s even worse.

    Tyrone May

Tyrone May’s barrister was Richard Pontello, a very well known attorney. He’s not just any old barrister, he’s a senior counsel. If he was recommending a guilty plea that was very likely the best option.

Sure, no physical violence, but emotional torture was inflicted. And given what we know of mental health these days that can leave just as much long term damage as some physical violence.

It seemed the obvious implication, am I wrong? Why don’t you think he should’ve plead guilty then?

    Tyrone May

Ah, so this is why you’ve been defending May so much, you don’t actually think he did anything wrong. Good to know.

When they make it an issue again, absolutely we do.
