    Peter V'landys - New NRL/ARLC Chairman

NFL decides to buy NRL. That`s be interesting.

New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

Interesting Cheika using the term NRL as well. Maybe the name we should be using in the U.S. to avoid any confusion with the other rugby. You know the one, the one that gives the rugby codes a bad name.

New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

These comments from `world-class` union coach Cheika were one right in the eye for all the union knobs who like to bag League out as being "simple". Good on him. Last year, Cheika confessed his interest in one day mentoring an NRL team, which he called an “awesome challenge”. “I am starting to...

New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

As I posted in the comments section attached to that article. Roy you could have had a positive spin in that article, or you could have a negative one. You chose the negative. And true, he used to be an excellent source of information. One of the very few in League circles who could combine...

    18th club, whose next?

In a recent radio interview V`landy`s said he`ll be sticking around until at least the 18th team is announced and they`ve finalised the next television deal.

    18th club, whose next?

Article by Roy Masters in today`s SMH: "NRL club CEOs were told at a recent meeting that the decision on an 18th team will be made in 12 months’ time, with the new club entering the competition in 2027/28." So there you have it, not long to wait.

    18th club, whose next?

A lot of people on this thread seem to be forgetting that The Dolphins are from Redcliffe and yet seem keen to have them not play any games there at all. Seems to me a good way to alienate your base. Yes, the ground is not ideal but they are a Redcliffe based team.

    Random International News

Makes me realise what a stuff up we`ve made of international Rugby League. Hard to bear thinking about where we might be now had we nurtured it a bit more over the intervening thirty years.

What if the NRL did an AFL on the NZRU?

Yeah, but Ideas Man, fumbleball has a flexible club distribution system and money to burn so propping up a couple of clubs for a decade or two (forever till it sends them broke will do me) doesn`t matter so much to them. We don`t have that sort of cash yet and even if we did I`m not 100%...

What if the NRL did an AFL on the NZRU?

" There is water at the bottom of the ocean", one of my favourite lines in popular music.

    Peter V'landys - New NRL/ARLC Chairman

Gee I`d hate to see that relentless booing stuff come into our game. I like to think that our game is more manly than that, or at least has a bit more honour. I was worried when we started to get a bit of that stuff with Latrell, hopefully it seems to have died out, hopefully.

And christ don`t they get some media coverage, they`re on just about every photo release the fumblers make. The racists who follow the game must hate it.

    Peter V'landys - New NRL/ARLC Chairman

I`ve never been to a fumbleball game and never will but I do remember when my son and I first watched a game on telly (lasted about10 minutes mind you) We thought there had been a pitch invasion by the crowd there was so many people on the field. Christ we laughed.

What if the NRL did an AFL on the NZRU?

This has been pointed out over and over and yet we keep hearing the same thing. I repeat THERE HAS BEEN NO SIGN OF ANYBODY OR ANYONE COMING FORWARD TO BID FOR A SECOND NEW ZEALAND TEAM. NIL. NOTHING.NOUGHT. (BTW that wasn`t yelling, just frustration). The other thing is of course: act in haste...

    Peter V'landys - New NRL/ARLC Chairman

Wouldn`t be surprised if they bought a bit more of that or similar type of real estate up there though, you know Olympics, union wc et.al. coming and all. This is the bloke under who`s stewardship Harold Park raceway bought a row of terrace housing next door when he was expanding (very...

And they haven`t bought the Gambaro up there to be taking business away from it. Reports are that it is trading above expectations. V`landy`s saying recently that they, the NRL, want 10 Gambaro`s in the next decade.

Why don`t we have a yawn emoji response on this forum.

New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

That explains why that argument or should I say slanging match went on for three pages - and still no winner !! I loved the list of aphorisms from the Denver surgeon, very amusing, you could swap the pig one for " never get in a pissing competition with a skunk" though, I wonder if that was...

    2023 TV/Fox/Streaming Ratings

Nice to see those fumbleball figures resuming their southward march after a little bit of a bounce leading up to the gather (lol) round nonsense and the Tasmanian (is that`ll you`ve got) announcement. Fumbleball - heading south both physically and metaphorically. Disclaimer: This dig is not...
