Nathan Hindmarsh reveals $200,000 poker machine addiction

There is a huge difference between the type of gambling the NRL (as an organisation, not the clubs themselves) promotes and Pokies. The NRL generally promotes TAB-style sports gambling. Sports gambling is generally considered nowhere near as addictive (and there can be a skill factor to it)...

    pro league to start 2013

IF there were to be a pro team in Iowa, would the best place to put it be in the Davenport/Quad Cities area? I know that area has a fairly large population once you count in the IA and IL sections.

    A Successful Club

Quick question about the Pittsburgh thing, since you're planning on "representing the city of Pittsburgh" is it safe to assume you will be going with white, black and yellow as your colours? Since they are the colours that, in my mind, represent the city.

Big Day Out 2012 will be the festivals last year in New Zealand

I've been to two multi-day festivals in the US. This one had a really diverse line-up. Went from the Offspring to Chuck Berry to the Foo Fighters, one after the other. Had 2 main stages which meant that I didn't have to sit through an artist I didn't like, but also meant that I missed some bands...

    The misery of the Colts

Actually. Most of it is. Their entire team was built around having Peyton Manning. Their defense was used to long fields and long breaks because they knew their offense with Manning was going to deliver those things on a regular basis. Their running game was built around not having to rely on it...

France U18s beat Australian AIS U18s

Yes, because elite football (soccer) academies never do this, do they? I think I said a couple of months ago that a good suggestion would be to: 1) Set up 2 new Toyota Cup teams (why not in potential expansion markets for the NRL? Might be a good trial run) owned and funded by the national...

LU Dynasty League - Season 2011 Thread

The nicest thing you can say about this year's edition of the Bungles is their QB situation is solid, and their top running back is good. Manning being out is really hurting Austin Collie's numbers, Ryan Wilson is injured, Golden Tate is young and Ronnie Brown has lost it.

    90's Australian music

To me they were the pretty much the only Australian band to attempt to really latch onto the whole "Nu-Metal" thing. And yes, I use "Nu-Metal" as a pejorative term.
