I'll see any film with any of the following :

Jack Nicholson
Tom Hanks
Jack Black
Colin Firth
Liam Neeson
Christopher Walken
Robin Williams
Ewan McGregor
Jeff Bridges
Johnny Depp
Daniel Craig

To name my favourite performances would be too painful a task. However, the role that I've enjoyed most over the past 2-3 years without doubt is Christoph Waltz as Col. Hans Lander in Inglorious Basterds.

Gary Oldman would be my choice for best actor around.
Robin Williams and Jim Carrey are two comedians that don't always get the credit they deserve, but very few actors would be able to do what they do. I'd like to see some of the best actor recipients do what Carrey did in 'The Mask' or Williams in 'Good Morning Vietnam'.
Actors I generally like are Daniel Day-Lewis, Ian McShane, Liam Neeson, Bruce Willis, Ed Harris, Brad Dourif, Viggo Mortensen, Tom Hanks, Christopher Lee, Peter Dinklage, Sean Bean and Ian Mckellen. Just because they are true actors that do the job and aren't huge celebrity types.
Also don't mind Sean Penn, Al Pacino, Matt Damon and any other actors that get into the directing, producing, writing or general movie making part of production instead of being on set for a few weeks and saying a few lines like a lot of actors do. I generally don't like the acting 'profession' as I think they get WAY too much credit for the movies they are in, while directors, writers etc are pushed to the background, even though most of the time their job is much harder. Then it gets to the part where some celebrities are paid $20 million just to be in a movie. Some actors considered the greatest ever, like Marlon Brando, often didn't listen to the director, didn't learn their lines and were barely on set while demanding ridiculous salaries. For the talent and work required, I don't think most actors deserve the credit, money or the celebrity standing and influence they have. Some films, like Tropic Thunder and Team America, mock this situation brilliantly.

Also when it comes to voice actors I have great respect for Mel Blanc, Billy West, Mark Hamill and Dan Castallaneta, great talent without the recognition screen actors get.

Among my favourite movies, he's awesome in that movie and I don't think I've not liked him in any movie.
Also like Jason Statham, Matt Damon and Robin Williams was great in Good Will Hunting (as was Damon - in fact every actor in that movie was good).

Johnny Depp is pretty awesome and versatile. It's pretty unfortunate he has become Tim Burton's bitch though.

A few others

Warren Beatty in Bulworth was amazing
Mel Gibbson in The Beaver (I know I would be totally alone on this one, but this was my favourite performance by Gibson ever)
Will Smith in Ali, The Pursuit of Happiness, 7 Pounds.

Daniel Day-Lewis in There Will Be Blood is the single greatest performance I've ever seen.
He's great in everything he does but that was the role of a lifetime.

Also a big fan of DiCaprio - brilliant in The Departed, excellent in Blood Diamond. Great also in Gilbert Grape, Shutter Island and Inception. Looking forward to his performance in Django Unchained.

Brad Pitt is another actor I have a lot of time for.
Fight Club
Assassination Of Jesse James
12 Monkeys
Benjamin Button
Moneyball

Dieter Laser - The Human Centipede

not even f**king around, as ordinary as the movie was, the evil doctors performance is downright f**king disturbing (or comical, depending on who and how you were viewing the movie, i suppose) at times. FEEEEED HERRRRR!

I can't bring myself to watch that movie. The whole concept is just utterly disturbing. The sequels are even worse.

Good for you man, I was pretty much forced to watch it, it still haunts me and what's worse is I now have to watch the sequeal :(/

Pervey, apparently in order to get in character, he would never talk to the fellow cast members and kept to himself between shots and stuff.

yeah, i've read he's a pretty serious method actor. gets right into his roles. it certainly showed... it was an excellent performance. when contrasted against the relatively poor acting from his support (fortunately the 2 female leads are... muted... for at least half the film) his performance stands out even further imo.

i wasn't forced to watch it so much as a mate chucked it on, and i hadn't heard of it. i haven't done a second viewing, which is extremely rare for me and film. i haven't grown the balls to watch the sequel yet, but i do intend to. i don't think you can ignore it once you've seen the first... certainly not if you're as deranged as i.
