Coming from an extremely low base though. When I first came to Melbourne rugby league results were not even printed in newspapers or mentioned on their "World" of sport shows. Today everyone knows the Storm you see merchandise everywhere and rugby league has a presence. Never did I think...

This is true and an area that Quayle and Arko had built up over 10 years to the point we were number one. The question is what is vlandys and abdos plan to get us back to that point. They dont seem to have a vision other then saving Foxtel. How about top dollar for night GFs super saturday etc...

[ its a tough sell. They have had live AFL on Sydney TV since the early 70s and it still isnt a big attraction in western sydney. They will not have the luxury of a SL with thousands of disgruntled supporters to spur them on as the Swans did. Before SL the swans were on their knees. What did...

They will have to do the hard yards for many many years as they will never have the luxury of a super league war to push them forward as the Swans did.

Which you would think if the NRL were keen on a club they would have a strong presence and indicate they are interested in a club there however they have done the opposite and news corp have only been interested in east coast.

Yes. Which they should still be doing. I recall when the Reds came in the ARL played numerous games over 5 Years to build interest then gave them a team.

Its just basic business isnt it, like putting your house up for auction you want competition to drive up the price. His reward was an extension on his contract.

Yet RL dominates two of the 3 biggest markets in Australia and 4 Of the top 5 Rating football games in a year. How does Vlandys justify this.

    2023-2028 next tv deal discussion

We had a chance under smith and grant I heard Roy Masters recently say he thinks it will be NZ2. Because News Corp considered it competition so saint pete did what they required.

Ironically when i was young a hell of a lot of players were school teachers. Strange that the public was educated by dumb rugby league players.

What is Abdo's role in all this. The invisible man is still invisible.

Fair enough. I dont think the game is but the media want us thinking that way. I think the game doesnt know its true worth, we think we would die without foxtel the truth is its the other way around.
