We always were. Some just couldn’t see it

Round 9 vs Tigers - Bathurst

We are only two wins from the first place team, and one win from teams 2 to 4. We still have the best defence in the comp, and have the third best points differential. We have two of our best forwards, that have missed most of this season, still to come back into the team. And much improvement...

Not likely, as Mitchell will be left centre. Turbo was right centre last time he played SOS. So the Blues will need a right centre if Turbos not back in time for game 1, which is not Burtons side.

    Round 8 vs Souths

Thanks. I don't have time to watch much of NSW Cup, so usually just watch the highlights. So it's good to get an opinion from someone that does.

    Round 8 vs Souths

What's your opinion on Jenkins? Has the size for first grade, and is usually on the highlights scoring tries for NSW Cup games.

    Round 7 v Knights

Because they have different roles in the team. Ivan obviously trust Huth to start when one of our middle starters is out, he has strong defence, helps control the ruck and just does his role with few errors. Smith has more impact as a bench middle.

    Round 7 v Knights

No, but the Panthers have a high performance culture, not just in first grade but right through all of the grades. Which assists them greatly in their next man up mantra. When those next in line deserve it, they will get their opportunity. In the meantime, they know they have to be disciplined...

    Round 7 v Knights

You want the club to play younger players to get them ready for next year in only round 7 of this year? When we have games to win right now, and another premiership to aim for this year? The Panthers don’t do that, even Bellamy, Robinson etc don’t do that. They pick the best players to win the...

    Round 6 v Silvertails

I agree with all that you said, and that there is still lots of footy to play out. But, the Panthers have also had to deal with injury, being without their best prop, their best edge forward, their second best winger and another edge forward. The Panthers success over last 3 seasons has been...

    Other games

I feel for the players, especially the ex Panthers Api, Laurie, Staines and Naden. But the club only have themselves to blame. Hire Sheens as your head of football, let him sack your head coach and replace him with himself, and then sign off on it without checking that he failed and was sacked...

    Former Panthers in the NRL

How did Api play? Has he started to find any form yet as a Tiger?

    Round 6 v Silvertails

Good point, especially after all the comments about their attack after the first couple of games. I know I am probably in the minority, but I have seen enough even this early in the season to think the Kenny and Luke combo will work out well this year. And that Hosking has filled our gap at...

    Round 6 v Silvertails

Despite the short offseason though, and losing two key players and having to adjust our attack, we are already coming second, once again have the best defence in the league, and have the best for and against. We may lose more games this season than we did in any of the last 3 seasons, but I am...

    Round 6 v Silvertails

A positive to that though means when there are injuries, Garner to first grade or Sorensen to an edge, means they just step into our structures seamlessly and do their role, and the team just continues along. There are no glaring holes that other clubs can target. Sure, a game breaking edge...

    Round 6 v Silvertails

Sorensen will be back in the middle once Martin returns. And Garner will probably be in NSW Cup until injuries and State of Origin time. So if our 2 starting edges when fit are Martin and Hosking, I can certainly live with that for this season.

    Round 6 v Silvertails

Edwards was great last night and rightly got the accolades with his 4 tries. But how awesome was Yeo as well. 28 runs for 210m and 25 tackles with zero misses, in addition to his linking role. Was great to see Luke get through 54 minutes at hooker, and that he made 25 tackles with zero misses...

    Round 6 v Silvertails

But unless something radical happens, like Ivan being sacked and Iamback becomes head coach, that’s not going to happen any time soon.

    Round 6 v Silvertails

Reading comments on here by some posters about Martin makes me think of the duck quote “If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's a duck!” Martin may have been a prop in his younger days, but as an edge forward, he has now won two premierships, a state of origin series and a World Cup...

    Round 5 v Canberra

But who would this tall edge forward with an offload and footwork be, and how would we be able to afford him if he is on the market? We don’t have an issue at right edge, so why create one by moving Martin to the middle? Smith showed against the Raiders how much he has improved, and Liam Henry...

    Round 5 v Canberra

Who could we get better than the current NSW and Australian edge forward? And for what Martin is on. Any decent edge forwards have been signed for $800k plus when on the market.
