    18th club, whose next?

Yeah, you’re probably right. The ship has probably sailed anyway, as Tamworth (with a catchment population pushing 70 000) only has one Rugby League Club left - Norths. They used to be such a strong area with several strong clubs, first and second division.

    18th club, whose next?

And nobody looks inland. when they set up the wimmin’s game, they missed the opportunity to shift their the focus to other areas. But I guess that’s just the city/seaboard centric culture of Australia to never look beyond developing the coastal capitals.

    18th club, whose next?

It would make a lot of sense (geographically and strategically) for a team from New England/Mid North Coast to join The NRL. from Tamworth to Moree, Armidale, Inverell, right through to Taree and Coffs Harbour - massive RL base.

    Pacific Championships 2024

Yeah, I think you’re right there. He has been out for a while.

    Pacific Championships 2024

Fair point, but Connor Watson wouldve been a better option IMO, particularly if they’re going for new blood.

Yes, you’d be left wondering if you were a current Origin forward

    2024 GF | PREMIERS - Penrith 14-6 Melbourne @ Accor

Im inclined to agree. I suppose most would put up the Dragons era as the greatest. Some though would argue that Minor Premierships need to be considered, otherwise the Panthers are the GOAT ‘finals’ performers rather than ‘GOAT’ overall. :bomb:

    2024 GF | PREMIERS - Penrith 14-6 Melbourne @ Accor

Leave him alone. He might finally get some decent game time.

ABOUT TO KICK OFF RIGHT NOW.... The Koori Grand Final Match

Yeah, I’ve Sort of worked that out now. Must be hard to police the salary cap etc  Wonder how the local communities feel about that. I suppose it‘s good if you’re winning.

No DCE - probably because he’s reaching the end of his career etc. But then……….Ben Hunt.

ABOUT TO KICK OFF RIGHT NOW.... The Koori Grand Final Match

Great fun To watch. I just get really confused about who’s playing for who. I didnt think Barba was from Walgett, but then he’s just one example of ex-NRL stars popping up all over the place.

    The Desolation of Smug

Wel, they still have to beat the Super League champs.

    The Desolation of Smug

Well Smug doesn’t really start until GF celebrations get underway. There’ll be tributes, posts, tweets and headlines for days, raising the ire of the outraged. That’s always fun to watch unfold.

Cleary was close, but yes Martin was there.

    2024 GF | PREMIERS - Penrith 14-6 Melbourne @ Accor

Well, it’s so close it’s come down to niggle tactics, the rub of the green, winning the video war, with a kicking game thrown in, to decide whole competitions. Well done Panthers, commiserations Storm. Cant believe the small Elements of bad sportsmanship on show tonight.

    Gould the Master Spin Doctor

Finally some common sense. It’ll be a relief not to have to listen to him talk about the ‘structures and pathways’ out at Penrith - taking credit for every success they have. Nobody seems to talk about the time he gave Cleary the sack. Or the time he gave Griffin the sack only weeks away from...

    2024 GF | PREMIERS - Penrith 14-6 Melbourne @ Accor

Well I don‘t suppose you’re featuring in the GF entertainment this year then? I reckon ‘Cry In Shame’ is one of your best.

Dally M Night - Your thoughts

I would love to see a forward win the medal. Yeo had a good year, and probably could’ve ranked a bit higher. And he’s really only there because of the link role he plays at Penrith - a bit like another 5/8. Which all goes to prove that in the modern version of the game the award is going to be...
