A bit of North Sydney Oval would go down a treat

    Easts Tigers Enter Expansion Race

That would work well - plus you could call them “Brisbane Jets” without getting Ipswich offside

    Easts Tigers Enter Expansion Race

Rugby league has precedent with two Seagulls in the QCup and two Magpies in the NSW Cup. Would be weird though for a top flight competition. If Easts did though it would be nice if they dropped their Balmain rip-off logo and went back to the traditional Tiger for a point of difference.

    Easts Tigers Enter Expansion Race

We joke but it almost happed as the “East Coast Tigers” for 1998. Easts, Balmain, and the Chargers

    Gold Coast Bears/Nth Sydney/Gosford

The point about Friday evening games at North Sydney is the only bit that makes sense!

    Gold Coast Bears/Nth Sydney/Gosford

I wonder if they could call it “Brisbane Football Club” or something similar (given the AFL does not have exclusive ownership of that name), and the media and everyone casually refers to them as the Bears? Somewhat like that period where the Bulldogs and Sharks dropped their location, but we...

This sounds like it will be the best Queensland jersey in years.

    Brisbane Bombers Bid

Time to reboot the Logan City Scorpions then I guess? I’m sure that many years ago I read somewhere that Logan City was in somewhat serious conversations with the NSWRL about entering - obviously all fell over with the 1995 teams, and then Logan folded into Souths in 2001/2..

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

If the State and Fed governments can chuck millions at an oval that will never be used, surely this can get off the ground too

It It did always look weird when the 50m line cut straight through the sponsor logo. Happens to the Telstra one too.

    Gold Coast-Ipswich Titans

Maybe it’s my memory but I’m sure the Jets were a feeder club back in the early days of the Titans. But still, a GC-Ipswich name is crazy. Way too far apart to work.

Wild Card Weekend - reports NRL looking to expand finals to ten teams

Reminds me of the ARL in 1997, 12 teams and a top 7.

    2019 Crowd Watch

Like with most Qld cup teams there’s a lot of grass to be seen on the hills at times. On the topic of Sunshine Coast Stadium though- it’s a great example of a renovation from an oval to a rectangle. AFL can’t have been happy with that upgrade!

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

Longer term I think it’ll be the better of the two options. The extension of the heavy rail to the border will make it insanely easy for people at the southern end of the coast to reach the stadium, and once the light rail hits Burleigh they’re looking at a spur to Robina and a continuation to...
