Smith wary of former Knight with extra motivation

Smith wary of former Knight with extra motivation

Yep that city country game was his undoing. He was injury free up until that game, he broke that ankle, all downhill from then on. Coincidently, I'm pretty sure Brian Smith was the coach of that country side.

    Smith's advice to Blues selectors

I'm not saying he isn't a better player now (he is a much better player) but at 7 IMO he is no better now than he was when Hagan was persisting with him there. I don't think you can manufacture a halfback, one of the most important roles there is to run the plays, I dont think Kidley can do...

    Smith's advice to Blues selectors

Seriously Roops Kidley has had a thousand goes at 7 and in all honesty he's no better now than he was all those years ago when Hagan had him running around there. IMO he doesn't have the instincts to be a number7. You've either got it or you haven't I don't think you can learn it.

    First Grade Knights vs Cowboys

Wicks doesn't deserve to be in the side. As for defending he can only do that if they run into his open arms. He's a liability on the field.

    Smith's advice to Blues selectors

Well that's not news to most Knights fans. Apart from his poor kicking he is not an organiser, I just don't think Gidley can run the plays, he just doesn't seem to think more than one play at a time. Fullbacks his spot, that's it, or off the bench and playing a roving role much like Smith had...

    First Grade Knights v Bulldogs

I'm not going to argue. However he wasn't the only player that missed tackles that resulted in tries (I don't think Utai's try is down to him anyway, I'd say the NRL stats don't either, he's down with 0 errors). Put Mullen and Bailey in the halves and they will make mistakes, in fact Bailey has...

    First Grade Knights v Bulldogs

Too right, there are people on these boards who expect our next number 7 to play like A.Johns every week, Dureau made some mistakes sure, and Mullen and Kidley and even the flavour of the month (Bailey) all have made mistakes in the halves recently. It seems we need to be caning whoever is the...

    Dark Days For Knights

Exactly, There's a thread elsewhere about the lack of noise chanting etc. I'm with Roops, I think we have a side that the crowd doesn't relate to anymore. We have a team that lets face it is basically made up of low profile players from other clubs where they couldn't crack it in first grade...

    Dark Days For Knights

You talking about this young lady? The picture was with the story. Knights fans Karl Beahan, Eli Reckwell and Justine Mutton. Here's the story Time for fans to show their true colours 4/06/2008 11:53:00 PM THE past 12 months have been testing times for Knights fans but despite the...

    Dark Days For Knights

A lot of it is to do with game scheduling. Newcastle fans love Sunday afternoon games. We have been getting very few of those lately plus the intoduction of Monday night games has really hit us hard. If all our games were Sunday Arvo games the crowds wouldn't have changed much at all. Also like...

    Dark Days For Knights

Dark days for Knights ALISON BRANLEY 4/06/2008 11:35:00 PM THE number of Newcastle Knights fans has dropped by almost half since the peaks experienced after the 2001 premiership, according to a report. Figures from Roy Morgan Research estimate the rugby league team has lost 255,000...

    Simpson in..bench

I think the reason it's run as it is at the moment has more to do with Television. They are milking everything they can. Monday night games are killing clubs like us because nobody goes to them, SOO City Country games are the same they are revenue raisers for Television, I don't think the...

    Simpson in..bench

Good on Simmo being selected. Of course I'd rather see him playing for us but every player aspires to rep footy. I would like to see something done with the scheduling of SOO difficult I know, but there has to be a way of playing them without disrupting the competition. As Smithy rightly points...

    First Grade Knights v Bulldogs

Good post. I'll only say that IMO Matt White has to be a better option than Wicks, at least White will put in while he's on the park. I agree with Mac, I'll go further and say I think Wicks is amongst the worst front row forwards we've ever handed a first grade jumper to. I don't think he should...

It's in the mail to you Brett.

    St Brett AKA Untouchable

I don't think he follows any team in particular, and I don't know that he ever did. I know he goes to a lot of games in Sydney, watching various teams, and he's been posting a lot in the Raiders forum. I think he just follows the game.

    St Brett AKA Untouchable

Just read the Newcastle Herald and low and behold heres a photo of Untouchable on page 44 with a banner at the Dragons Souths game. He's sitting in an area of the seating with nobody else near him and his banner reads "NO VACANCY" pretty funny. **By the way I cleared this with him before posting**

Time for Wicks to step down....

Hopefully Tolar is fit this week. Matt White was killing it in reserves how's he been going recently?
