    08 :: R3 MNF :: Sea Eagles 52 Warriors 6 @ Brookvale

Timmah, the image of Brookvale Oval you have in the background of the Match Banner is not a picture of Brookvale Oval as it currently stands. The stand in the top left corner of the picture does not exist, nor does the grandstand along the back of the hill. That image was an architect's...

    Hunt - How many weeks?

The manner in which the contact occurred was entirely the result of Anasta losing his footing and falling face first into Hunt. Hunt should not have even been penalised. With Anasta falling face first, there was nothing Hunt could have done to avoid contact with his head, no matter what type...

    Voluntary tackle penalty

Which is stupid. If he doesn't want to get up and run and the defence don't want to tackle him (or a lay hand on him), then the ref should call held and get on with the play the ball.

    Voluntary tackle penalty

I have no problem with a player conceding a "voluntary" tackle to avoid getting thrown into touch or pushed back in goal or diving out of the in-goal into the field of play or even conceding after a possible obstruction. Is it really such a crime ? It is not a question of toughness. It is...

    Penalties for forward passes

Ok, well I wasnt aware of the backchatting. Did that apply to the Sharks no-try forward pass too? Whilst the rule has always been a deliberate throw forward should be a penalty, for years refs have taken the easy option and just put down a scrum. Judging "deliberate" or not is a bit...

    Penalties for forward passes

I must have missed the edict, but looks like the refs will be giving penalties for forward passes in 2008. There were two at Brookvale last night.

Adrian: A face to the voice of reason

As most would know, the BSB often talk to golfer Paul Gow, who has had a go at Phil Mickelson on a number of occassions for being less than a good bloke. Late last year, Paul Gow was in the BSB studio and in perhaps one of the most delicious ironies of all time (or at least BSB history), the...

    Bulldogs members elect new board

Ok, maybe Gary McIntyre could take on the CEO's role :-)

    Bulldogs members elect new board

I wonder if Farrar, Dunn, Ward, Dib and Elias will use their numbers to sack Noad and replace him with Graham Hughes as CEO and Company Secretary - now that would be funny.

    Bulldogs members elect new board

My point was (and still is) that your much edited first post does not list Charlton, who topped the vote. The source of the error is irrelevant. As for a vendetta? You tell us - you were the one who got all stroppy about "much edited" for some unknown reason. Oops, now I have much...

    Bulldogs members elect new board

Given Charlton topped the vote, surely he deserves a run in your (much edited) very first post on this thread.

Manly Deflect Fury Over Funding Cut

Leagues Club used to give Sea Eagles $1m, of which $120k went to juniors, leaving Sea Eagles with $880k. Leagues Club now says we can only afford $600k (not sure of exact figure, but use $600k for the exercise) In the past, this would have meant $120k for the Junior League and $480k for the...

Manly Deflect Fury Over Funding Cut

Without doubt, Manly Leagues Club has reduced its funding to the Manly Sea Eagles because of pokie taxes, smoking laws etc etc. However, it was the Manly Sea Eagles, not the Leagues Club, who decided the Junior League's share of the "Leagues Club Grant" pie would only be $70k, not the usual $120k.

Have a look at www.sitkowned.com for a recap of some of the best pics. The second YouTube is very funny - especially the very last line.

Who is the oldest NRL Club?

Newtown definitely held their inaugural meeting at Newtown Town Hall on 8 January 1908 at which a motion was carried "that a Newtown District Rugby Football League Club be now formed to affiliate with the N.S.W. Rugby Football League". JJ Giltinan was present and addressed the meeting prior to...
