If Bellamy didn't have a hand in choosing White, Hoffman, et al.....then you're kidding yourself........he got what he wanted and he served up a nice plate of turd.

So wait there ...
Is it the selectors fault (i.e Bob Fulton) or is it Bellamy's fault that a crap NSW team was selected?

Why would you be laughing at Bellamy?
He did a great job with the sh*thouse resources he had to use

I thought his gameplan and some of his tactics left a lot to be desired, honestly. A big example from tonight was shown up by Folau...surely Monaghan should have been marking him instead of the obviously outgunned Quinn? Or the fact that, as mentioned earlier, we only seemed to bomb the right? Sure some stuff was out of his control, but those two simple examples were within his control and he should have done something about them IMO. That said, he still did better than I thought he would with some of our atrocious selections.

Like how Jarrod Mullen was the long term NSW no.7 last year?

fair call
I am hoping they do stick with pearce, but they need a better 5/8th and Bird is not the answer... Pearce/Carney imo... but anyways pearce was solid at best, did nothing that suggests he's got a mortage on the #7

Pearce and Anasta played well I thought in fact there wasn't a bad player on either side.
Gallen gave away a dumb penalty, Quinn lost a bomb, apart from that the Blues were great.
Monaghan on debut was great and should hold his spot for next year.
NSW missed Gasnier's attack.
Hayne didn't get much ball, most of the attack went to the right.
I think NSW played a better all round game but were hard done by and made a couple of crutial errors.

I think either Mullen, Pearce or Carney have the ability to be a long term halves option for NSW. Pearce didn't do too badly tonight but really, what could he do? QLD defence was solid and NSW didn't have much spark. The selectors need to choose their halfback carefully before Game 1 next year and leave him there! thats the only way they will improve.

How about the uneducated morons bagging Pearce. The kid did well and there's no doubt that he'll be the long term NSW half. Mason was great too, the most damaging NSW forward. Gallen was the worst culprit, he shouldn't get selected again.

What frigging game were you watching?
This thread is for the 3rd State of Origin game that was played tonight. Did you have a tape of the last rooters win on instead?
Get with the program. They gave NSW nothing. Zip. Nada. Zero.
Buderus and Gidley? They gave their all.

Yeah let's all blame the 19 year old debutant, talk about mentally challenged, look no further than these forums.

Spot on.

Gallen should have his papers marked never to play origin again. Reason : too stupid.

Brett White and Ben Cross are the most pathetic and useless props i've ever seen play origin.Anyone who thinks we dominated the Qld forwards are fair dinkum just plain dumb. Qld owned us in the forwards.

Mason did well, he made a ton of hitups and put some big shots on.

The problem with the halves was that Monaghan and Quinn were too damn slow to get to the bombs on their side. They didnt put any pressure on Qld at all. f**k me, Toddy the Turtle Byrne would have got to those bombs quicker than those two.

Crap performance from NSW overall, Qld deserved to win. Congrats.

From a relative impartial watcher

NSW
- Pearce went better than expected BUT it was a big ask to put a debutant out there when he has very few playmakers around him
- Anasta was sh*t
- Mason was better BUT he never seems the player to GET the team on the go forward but after two or three other forwards have done the hard yards he chimes in with a big run.
- Gallen was terrible. He was ineffective at what he is 'good' at - being a grub. Stupid penalties - doesn't add anything.

QLD
- Folau, Inglis, Slater, Thurston, Smith. Simply brilliant.
- Price gets a lot of (well deserved) wraps. Cininoceva (sp?) is such a workhorse though.
- Crocker showed Gallen how he should be playing.
- Felt Sorry for Prince.

Overall
- Archer was sh*t
- I think NSW lack what the Kiwis have (flair eg SBW, Benji, Soliola, Sa etc) and the Kiwis lack what NSW have (structure, players like Fitzgibbon, Lafranchi etc)

Yeah yeah, saying stuff like no set plays, apparently that's all Pearce's fault. Set plays? After a week? Did Qld put any set plays on? Most teams train set plays all year and you only see like two a game ... and they are the coach's area of responsibility to devise them anyway. There's more players who have to know their part who are involved in set plays than just the halves!

There's no credit for Anasta's try-saver, Pearce running at the line, or Anasta's stealing the ball at the death for one last crack. Oh no, these apparently not miraculous enough for our peanut gallery and they're ready to run them out of town.

Deadset these whingers and death-riders are so tiring. How about this? Instead of carrying on like a pack a whinnieing nellies just admit to ourselves that NSW got outplayed by desparate QLD goal line defence. Then in the back half of the match, Qld did to us what they already do, a piece of individual brilliance and score a run away try even after they look dead in the water for half the match.

The only NSW player I think did a poor job was Gallen ... gifted them field position at crucial moments.

I'd go with Pearce and Wallace personally, with Carney next in line.

I think people are being harsh on the halves...it was a deadset arm wrestle tonight and the halves on both sides found it hard to get into the game. Not saying they were good...but they did ok with what they had IMO.

.

Maybe if Stewart had played 80 minutes or not been at dummy half on the fifth tackle because of some hare brained scheme of Bellamys there might have been some pressure:roll:. What the hell was he thinking!!!
And Pearce and Anasta were sh*t, don't know how anyone can defend them, should have been hooked.
