Before tonight Parramatta had played one decent half of football. Don't get ahead of yourself.

And now we have played 3 good halves of footy, not many teams can say that this year yet including the Knights in my opinion.

I mean the Bulldogs have barely played one good half, maybe a good 30 mins perhaps.

Im happy with 2/3 considering we lost our only away game in New Zealand agaisnt a unpredictable Warriors side.

:?

20-0 over your mob was 40 minutes of great footy, add the second half last week.... your maths needs some work ;-)

let him get ahead of himself ;-)

we'll see him crashing down to earth yet again like all the parra fans who have gotten there hopes up for the past 20 years only to be constantly dissapointed.

Parra took advantage of a bulldogs side who had fallen asleep, i didn't see the warriors game or tonights game so i can't comment, but from all reports Eels struggled tonight and Eels have a far better team on paper than Newcastle. Its laughable that eels_fan_01 seriously thinks the Eels are playing better footy than teams like the Tigers

Really, the Eels weren't even the better team tonight. Newcastle lost the game with sh*tty control and stupid penalties at the back end of the game. Not saying that Parramatta didn't deserve to win, but it wasn't on the back of superior play and Hagan's tactical brilliance. Just a lot of youthful errors from a fairly inexperienced Newie outfit.

That, in my eyes, is one (possibly two, since they played alright in the first half) good half of football all season.

Parramatta's attack in the final third was absolutely horrendous . Inside ball after inside ball followed up by a bad kick. The only person who offered something was Mateo.

Newcastle looked dangerous, and will do well this year.

Until Mullen put the kick up for Lulia in the corner Newcastle's attack was just your standard one-out bullsh*t and looked pretty ordinary in it's own right tbh. Having said that, Parra weren't any better.

Tim played quite well, he eased himself back into it and let Mateo and Finch run the show....he set up a try for Grothe and made some good kicks...

What'd he do wrong? He had an absolute shocker off the kick off, but other than that he made two errors. Both were off shocking passes. He didn't set the world on fire but he had a solid return I thought

First thing he does wrong is go missing all the time. His your halfback for christ sakes and he goes multiple sets in a row without touching the ball.

Poor 5th tackle options. It's bad enough that he won't take charge half the time on the 5th tackle but his constantly making poor decisions like kicking when he should pass.

Also he constantly does that inside ball which gets picked every time and is totally ineffective. I've seen him do do it as many as 3 or 4 times in a set on the line with no result whatsoever. Just give the ball to Mateo and at least let him try something different.

Every time i hear people compliment Tim Smith it's simply he set up 2 tries. There is more than being a good halfback than setting up a try or two. A halfback is supposed to control the game Tim Smith does none of that. He just shows up on the try line and puts over a few chip kicks or grubbers. His going to set up a try or two eventually but what about the rest of his game?

I don't care if you want to call him a good player cause your the one who's going to have him holding back your team this year.

Considering the class of players on the sideline for the Eels, they can only get better Timmah.

I never understood why people didn't consider the Knights at least an outside chance. For those in the know they have one of the best 1,6,7,9 combinations and a very handy assortment of quality players to fill in at other positions.

When all fit I think they have a very underrated starting 17. Their depth is a problem though - a few injuries to key players and they will really struggle.

I would be more confident of the knights makeing the 8 than our rabble....

So do you still consider us a rubbish footy team, considering we very nearly beat you?

Bulldogs look like they will end up last with Souths and the Raiders at the moment so who gives a f**k what any of you Dipsh*t fans think of Parramatta.

Came back from 20-0 at halftime
Won golden point

Weve gone better than every side expect the Broncos and Sharks in my opinion.

Parra still cant tackle.....

A couple of things....last night was his first game back from a shoulder reconstruction, what do you expect him to do? He eased himself back in and did some good things. I don't think anyone expected anything more than that after his off season.

Secondly...he uses the inside ball because every now and then he picks you off on the outside...you expect the inside pass and he throws a perfect pass outside. He does use the inside pass a bit too often when he's struggling for form, but again last night was his first game back and of course he wouldn't be in top form.

You can write him off all you want, but I'll take the tries he creates from all over the field thanks.

Typical post from ef01, someone doesnt agree with you so swear and belittle them until they go away. From the way you carry on sometimes, it is obvious you care far too much what other posters think of you and your team as what they say wouldnt spark you off so much otherwise.

Confidence in your team is one thing but deluding yourself that your team is doing better than they actually are is something else. The Eels won tonight simply because Newcastle dropped the ball too much and to a lesser extent the poor refereeing. It was a whisker away from the Eels being 1/3 so settle down champ as you may have egg on your face yet again.
