That's true. Comment withdrawn...

I'll pick on him about the Proclaimers then. Two hits - "500 miles" and "I'm on my way"
Don't pick on me, I didn't make up the list...that's like picking on the bloke that squeezed all the grapes that go into jungle juice cause it's his fault you got drunk

LOL @ Milli Vanilli....the voice over kings legend!

I think they were more a one album wonder. They probably would have gone further if their dirty little secret hadn't got out.

How about

The Blobby Song - Mr Blobby
Cotton Eye Joe - Rednex
Achy Breaky Heart - Billy Ray Cyrus
I'd Rather Jack - The Reynolds Girls
Funky Town - Pseudo Echo
How Bizarre - OMC (that one was kinda cool though)

How about Los Del Rios - Macarena?

Or alternatively Baha Men - Who let the dogs out!

And the grand daddy of all one hit wonders Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby...

But hey he was cool though so it's all good! 8)

House of Pain did ok for a couple of albums, just didn't have much else in the way of singles, and Kenny Rogers had a shitload of other country hits. Totally agree with the others though.

Only reason I didn't nominate Baha Men is I forgot who wrote that bloody song!

True -Spandau Ballet
Rock and Roll, Pt. 1 -Gary Glitter
Funky Town - Pseudo Echo

These 3 all had a number of hits and career longevity...

The Knack - My Sharona

The Knack put out a number of good quality power-pop albums but yes they didn't have another big hit.

A Girl Like You -Edwyn Collins

Edwyn Collins started out in Scotland in a band called Orange Juice who were very popular locally and quite influential.

I would think that the archetypal One Hit Wonder should be a singer or band who had little talent, had only one hit song and preferrably only one album.

Think Mickey by Toni Basil.

who sung that zoot suit riot song?
The Cherry Poppin' Daddies. (is that a great band name or what!)
That whole swing revival thing lasted all of 5 minutes. (about 5 minutes after the movie "Swingers" came out I think!)
