FFS it wasn't a shoulder charge!
Everyone on the commentary team agreed that it was a textbook shoulder charge and everyone on every show I have seen since that has discussed it has agreed that it was a shoulder charge. The match review panel agreed that it could have been penalised and the two referees have been dropped from first grade this week as a result of it and the Jack Wighton mid air tackle.
There was no "charging" at all. He just braced himself for the contact.
Yeah, braced himself by using his shoulder to make contact with Ferguson and made no attempt to use his arms or hands as one would with a normal tackling style.
Jesus Christ, if that's what we're calling a shoulder charge these days I honestly weep for the game.
Whether you agree with the shoulder charge rule or not it is there. We got penalised for TLL attempting a similar tackle two weeks ago where no one was injured, yet the same type of tackle that actually does result in an injury to one of our players goes without a penalty.
There is a passage of play that ultimately resulted in a try against us and Newcastle taking the lead where four penalties should have been given to us.
How about some f**king consistency.
Why the f**k should he be suspended, just because a player who RAN INTO HIS SHOULDER was injured?
Oh get f**ked! It's not like Buderus was standing still doing nothing and Ferguson just ran at him. Buderus moved in on Ferguson and at the last second decided to use his shoulder. End of f**king story.
