I'm talking in terms of the quality of the football. I couldn't give less of a shit about how much the media want to hype it, Origin is huge every year and would be without their help. Why? Because the footy is always top notch. Taking the biff out of it has stymied the product a bit, I will admit.

IRL is capable of quality games of footy but not quite as often as Origin yet.
International footy has been far more competitive in the past 10 years than Origin, and has also produced better matches. England vs NZ in the 2013 World Cup and last year's 4N are the two best rep games I've seen in the last decade and maybe the two best full stop. f**k, half the matches in the 2013 World Cup > anything Origin has served up recently in terms of entertainment.

And he's got Daly Cherry Evans and Ben Hunt coming up right behind him.

Again, I'm sure QLD are pissing themselves.

So hunt, dce, thurston, cronk are all going to be in the same qld side?
All blues need is a repeat of today's performance from cronk and Thurston and we are in with a good chance?

Origin can be excellent, not denying that, but there's been some seriously dull Origin games in the past few years and some excellent internationals (and vice versa, but England vs NZ in the 2013 WC shits on any recent Origin game). The interest in Origin is maintained by the hype though, so even if the games are dull, people still tune in and stay tuned in- transfer that hype over to a three test Aus vs NZ series and it could be absolutely massive. The ANZAC test already outrates Union's Bledisloe, imagine what a three test series with proper promotion and hype could do?

That Samoa v NZ game has possibly the most enjoyable second half of any game ever played!

Except Greg Bird will be on NSW side.

I really, really don't understand why they persist with Inglis at fullback. Considering our attack looked just as poor, just as sloppy, just as disjointed as it did in the Four Nations, I can't see it as a coincidence any longer. He just isn't involved enough. Throw Dugan in there and perhaps we don't win but it's a far less embarrassing performance. Doesn't help that most of the side was arse but still...

Well played Kiwis. Freakish goal line defense and without Whare and Taumololololololololo.

Won't happen, because they have more passion to play for their state than they do for their country.

This test outrated everything not named Origin last year already.

Outrating the Bledisloe is winning third prize in a beauty contest these days.

It's a joke because the Aussie team refused to play. Good news is that the RLIF now finally has a legit full-time CEO and board instead of just being a bunch of half-hearted Aussies like it was in the past, so hopefully this will never happen again.

Hopefully. But why have no 4 nations this year. Seems backward move

Here is my two cents on the game...

The Aussies looked slow and unstructured and Dugan is definitely not a winger. His positional play was poor and Vatuvei dominated him in all aspects.

As for Cronk...offers nothing in attack and does not run at the line and I fail to see how he keeps his spot as Thurston got nothing from him and he is almost one dimensional with nothing more than kicking to his wingers being his only strength.

Thaiday...has to go. Did nothing and offers little. Woods was disappointing and Parker was busy but really the Kiwis had no problems containing any of the Aussie forwards.

The Kiwis...have a great blend of youth and experience. Bromwich and Matulino controlled the middle of the park and Johnson goes to another level under Kearney which makes me question the tactics and nous of McFadden at the Warriors as he is not an attacking coach.

Hiku had a massive defensive game next to SKD and helped Vatuvei nullify any attacking chances the Aussies had.

It is great to see that the Kiwis not only back themselves but have the defence to control their opposition now.

Tamou and Bird should have their names marked as never to be picked for Australia again. I doubt Sheens will have his contract renewed either after that performance.

Congratulations to the Kiwis they deserved to win. Saying that I have never seen a more lacklustre disorganised Australian team ever.

Bird offers nothing and is just a grubby whinger...

Tamou looked scared...completely overated.
