I wouldn't change clubs, no.
Now, if the Perth backers have the finances to satisfy the NRL why would they take on another clubs identity and not just set up a feeder system with an east coast club?
I really don't know what's going to happen or even what is best. I personally like the idea of Perth Bears, but that doesn't mean it will end up being the best option.

Ah yes, incredibly scientific Facebook polls. The post you responded to says people in Perth. The first comment on the facebook post is a Bears fan who lives in Penrith. Is Penrith now located in Perth?
The thing is the two main poll
options you should be looking at are:

1).Don’t care just want a team based in Perth
24% 100 votes

2).Perth team (Reds, Pirates, new name) Not Bears related whatsoever
20% 84 votes
(Perth Red/Buttwrinkles)

No East Coast people would have voted in those two categories.

There's been a lot of new people join the last week, all from the east coast. lol.

No Perth Bears Facebook page though.
No Perth Bears Facebook team either, actually no Perth league team anywhere NRL, NSW Cup, QLD Cup ?.
But you think your five team local fifo first grade competition will give your proposed NRL team the depth it requires lol.

You never know with Vlandys, but he's always saying the game thrives on tribalism. Tribalism isn't plonking a team from 4000klms away and 25 years ago into perth. That's gonna put a lot of people off.

And the winner of the Poll on

*The West Coast Pirates Supporters Group (2.2K members)

3).Joint Venture Bears
42% 173 Votes

Other people added:

4).Joint Venture different team mention below
0% 2 Votes

5).Perth Bears
8% 33 Votes

6).North Sydney Bears
3% 16 Votes

*Option 3 and Option 5 are the same options if you ask me.

*Option 4 were probably two Newtown Jets supporters.

*Option 6 are just cranky old North Sydney Bears fans that won’t accept change, they will still have the Bears in the NSW Cup so nothing will change for them anyways.

final say

If Perth never wants to be pulled, partner with the Bears.
It's a very cool combo where a NEW Perth team can enjoy some history also. The feeder system, the support, the east coast ratings and there's this massive support of trying to heal the past!
Perth- go it alone- sure.
Or have all the support imaginable on your side.

Rugby league central is Sydney..
World wide!
Knocking back the Bears is Knocking back the support of the centre of the Rugby league universe.

Maybe your NZ team can take them.

Perth RL fans have displayed a lot of arrogance and delusions of grandeur on this forum over the years.

Perth Rat reckons they're owed a team because they have 4,100 registered players across WA and 9k people in Perth watching NRL Premiership games on 9Gem.

When are they going to accept that 9k TV viewers and 4,100 is worth sweet f**k all to the game?

If V'landys is dumb enough to give this crazy idea the greenlight then his legacy will be f**ked. He'll be remembered as a ladder climbing corporate shill who took it up the tailpipe for News Ltd/Ch9 at the last broadcast rights deal and then bent over for Labor because they want the NRL to do their bidding in a petty public relations war between America and China.

NRL could get the odd Sydney away game for Perth played at NSO so it doesn't impact all home games for the Perth side being in Perth. Eg Tigers vs Perth, Roosters V Perth and Cronulla V Perth all played at NSO and have the tigers, roosters and Cronulla be compensated. These are just three random teams but it could change year on year.
