18th club, whose next?

I would like to see the Broncos build their average crowd up into the 40s and Dolphins close to 30k before a 3rd team comes in. If by 2030 that is occurring and it really should be, then sure, bring in Brisbane 3 - Logan/Ipswich or wherever. People on here are obsessed with turning Brisbane into Sydney, it's just not necessary.
Yeh exactly, the broncos are getting there and just need to keep it going.
The dolphins need a minimum of a decade of free air to build to that and need to give up the kayo games or they will always be on the back foot and not truly seen as a brisbane club.

By 2032 suncorp will have gone through a major redevelopment and will probably be 60k+ capacity so there will still be room for nrl growth in brisbane without an extra team.

If they are to get an extra team then sure base them west/south west to create a point of difference but call them 'brisbane' with all games at suncorp, not some small suburb.
We need a 3rd team to be a brisbane club and not a brisbane suburban club.

I think what is really clear is that no decisions on who and how in Perth have been made but ultimately it will come down to the cumins consortium to decide who they want to partner with, if anyone.

hate to say I told you so lol

You honestly think that the clubs and NRL will allow a Perth team who's plan is to put excess players into a 3rd rate competition over the QCup or NSW Cup is going to get in?

No, they'll be told to send them over east, unless the national reserve grade is up and running.

And when they get a few injuries. What players do they call up?

The side will be bottom 4 every year in that model. The clubs have to agree and won't accept a basketcase

And again where will they play? We don't need small clubs playing out of small stadiums ala sydney and kayo for that matter too.
Suncorp stadium is where brisbane nrl should be played because every brisbane team should be big enough for a stadium like that.
Everyone in brisbane and it's surrounds can get to suncorp.

If it's a huge growth corridor in the future then revisit it in the future once the growth has happened.
The other day Dolphins NRL sent me a members survey. One of the questions asked me how many Redcliffe Dolphins games I attend.

The club is too fixated on its locality. It shouldn't be playing any games at Dolphin Oval.

Which was a fear many people raised when redcliffe was chosen as a second Brisbane club and didn't choose to have Brisbane or even north Brisbane in the name.

A mistake imo and unless they wake up and right the wrongs of playing in a 10k stadium then they could easily waste the potential of being a second big brisbane club, especially if they have lean years like the titans.

Understand these two facts:
a) nobody on here knows what's going to happen because nobody on here is involved in the process
b) there articles are being leaked from NRL HQ themselves as part of a deliberate strategy to test public reactions on social media and to get bidders to compete more against each other so that the NRL derives the maximum value from expansion

I think this latest one came straight from the bid team
