yeah true, they should not bother learning from the Storm and do what the NSW cup Bears thinks is best :):)
maybe the bears can dig up some 1920s game plans from their archives.
Actually as the Storm are the Bears’ NRL pathways partners, Bears officials are spending lots of time in VIC looking at how things are run down there.
Wonder why ?.
Possibly being part of a NRL team in a AFL dominated State maybe the main reason.

fair enough, just commenting on wb's running narrative that the Storm are a huge failure and small Sydney clubs are the blueprint for expansion.

Is there any potential for norths to tap into central coast too or has that ship sailed ?
Nah that ship has sailed, though the Roosters are doing a rubbish job at it, I just feel that the Roosters are only ticking the boxes as I heard many years ago all NRL teams would have to meet a criteria at some stage in the future.

The Storm are not a failure, though it took them many years and a fair few millions of dollars to finally get established.
Their junior systems are now finally starting to take off and they are financially in the black.

That really sums it up. Storm are only just getting their systems right yet people here think Perth's will be instant

You are conflating two issues.

That the distance (travel) will stop them recruiting, this article is talking about the actual impact of travel on the teams themselves.

Kind of does.

Why as kid/fringe guy will you sign up to spend your weekend travelling back and forth to get a meaningful game when you can sign for any QCup or NSW Cup team and spend less time travelling?

The issue I have with the bears is that their fans (and wbtiktok) have rushed in here as if they are the most successful team in history and that Perth should be honoured that they are being considered to be in a joint venture with them.

The truth is that they are the desperate ones with very little to offer Perth except a crummy looking logo and a cricket ground.
But any Perth Bears team will be located in WA ?, again you have missed the point, how many times have the Raiders changed their logo since 1982 lol.
Slime green such great colours lol.

Thank you, this is what I have stated months ago, unless you are a player who can’t get that opportunity over on the East Coast.

I've said it before: it will be the players' wives and girlfriends (and boyfriends) who will be most impacted by travel/isolation in Perth (or PNG for that matter).
And some will prefer it, my sons went out after the Perth double header with some of their NRL friends, they weren’t hassled, nobody really knew who they were, and they all had a good time without it ending up all over the Sydney media.
Unless you live in Newcastle, what happens in Newcastle stays in Newcastle.

I don't know why you and tiktok keep bringing the raiders up. We have a team in the NRL.

Why is the bear logo a non negotiable? It's nothing special.
Has me beaten. I can only think you’ve got under these nitwits skin so much that they are just trolling in response.

It's a bit different living away from your support network especially if you've got kids.

Perth, apart from one or two residents, is a great place.
