The issue I have with the bears is that their fans (and wbtiktok) have rushed in here as if they are the most successful team in history and that Perth should be honoured that they are being considered to be in a joint venture with them.

The truth is that they are the desperate ones with very little to offer Perth except a crummy looking logo and a cricket ground.
These strawman argument are friggen hilarious

who said the bears were winning titles ?

I said they represent the richest area In Sydney. The place where rugby league is the strongest on earth. The money they will get from Sydney fans will be decent

they have a strong leagues club and property assets

I’ve talked against the jets because they basically have nothing to offer

bears will also have value for tv networks and sydney clubs gates

Bears got shafted the most from super league out of anyone.

People need to stop making up bs scenarios about the bears trying to kill off Perth and return to Sydney

the bears make Perth infinately stronger and also being large benefits for the nrl

Thank you, this is what I have stated months ago, unless you are a player who can’t get that opportunity over on the East Coast.

It has been my argument all along. Hence why they need a partner on the East coast not just a feeder team.

Of course work on the local systems but you need the options for those fringe guys to finish study/work over here until they get a full time deal.

Imagine the sales pitch at the school carnivals.

'Sorry we don't know if you will be a full time player, But leave your school and family to move over here'

Anyone with multiple options will take a local one

Absolute self serving Sydney centric crap. It’s so patronising and condescending it’s pathetic. You are a sanctimonious wanker mate..

I don't know why you and tiktok keep bringing the raiders up. We have a team in the NRL.

Why is the bear logo a non negotiable? It's nothing special.
Well the Bears have over 200,000 members, ask V’Landys lol.
Nothing special to you and I suppose if your Raiders were unjustly kicked out of the NRL your supporters would just fold up shop and support another team.
Pretty hard to compare a 1908 Foundation club to one formed in 1982 though.

But Perth red has argued for hundreds of pages how travel isn't a factor...

Travel is definitely a factor. If we add another team to New Zealand alongside Perth then it will cause more logistical problems for the game.

Perth's timezone is a hindrance for New Zealand's broadcasters.

After they came back from super league a big part of their fanbase went to the brumbies

indeed the brumbies crowds were 50 percent larger lol

so much for nostalgia

The guy from Freshwater Strategy was on Jimmy Smith's program today. They're the ones working on the Perth bid and also worked on the Dolphins bid.
Interesting listen.

It's a bit different living away from your support network especially if you've got kids.

Perth, apart from one or two residents, is a great place.
My sister has lived in Perth, between Cottesloe and Scarborough for over 40 years now, I have been over there plenty of times, I love Perth.
As I have said in a post pages back, Central Coast players will love Perth, it is no different to here, definately cheaper, probably more laid back, great beaches, way less media attention.
If I was a Perth Bears scout and they were successful and granted entry in 2027 I know the players I would be targeting as well as former home grown WA talent.
