Still going for two home games at NSO ... it's not NRL standard.

Perth's timezone is a hindrance for New Zealand's broadcasters.
It depends on how Perth's timezone is used.

If it's for helping with that late Sunday afternoon kickoff or the early Sunday evening slot, then no problem.

If it's around 9pm (Sydney/Brisbane) Friday or Saturday, that's a different story altogether. Few will stay up for a game kicking off at 11pm NZT & ending around 1am.

"A couple" of games a year at NSO is too much.

9 games a year in Perth is too few for a new team.

There is enough away games in Sydney for Bears fans.

These strawman argument are friggen hilarious

who said the bears were winning titles ?

I said they represent the richest area In Sydney. The place where rugby league is the strongest on earth. The money they will get from Sydney fans will be decent

they have a strong leagues club and property assets

I’ve talked against the jets because they basically have nothing to offer

bears will also have value for tv networks and sydney clubs gates

Bears got shafted the most from super league out of anyone.

People need to stop making up bs scenarios about the bears trying to kill off Perth and return to Sydney

the bears make Perth infinately stronger and also being large benefits for the nrl
I think the Bears provide more value on the Central Coast.

The problem.is how do we justify adding another team to NSW?

If the Perth Bears proposal is given the greenlight then it will be a Frankenstein operation that pleases no one and kills the Bears and professional RL in Perth.

If the lack of infrastructure in Perth below NRL level and tyranny of distance is such a liability then it's best to avoid the market. We only have to look at the Western Force to see what is likely to happen to a standalone Perth-based NRL team.

We have to go to Perth eventually

with their govt involvement it’s a good time now

they don’t need the bears but the bears make them stronger and save them 20 years of development

plus the bears value to broadcasters and Sydney clubs so what Perth want is not relevant in that case they have to compromise as to what’s best for the game

they already had one chance at a stand alone they blew it, they are lucky to get a second chance

Perth fans are desperate for a second chance but not for the bears

bears are more deserving of a second chance

Naah mate. Our Sydney nursemaids here prefer a model where Perth is mollycoddled by a failed Sydney suburban club otherwise the sky will fall in.

A second chance? They’ve been hibernating for over 25 years after decades of failure. You Sydney nursemaids crack me up.

If you feel so strongly why not let Cronulla relocate to Perth for the good of the game

home crowd last night was horrific

norths could come back as central coast bears and would be far stronger than the sharks

I don't really see the Bears offering much to the broadcasters. At least not to the FTA component of the deal. They'll be competing with nine Sydney clubs for one of three weekly FTA games. Plus they will essentially be a Perth-based team, so their interest to RL fans in Sydney will be limited to baby boomers who remember the North Sydney Bears.

A third Brisbane team provides more opportunities for FTA to broadcast Sydney vs Brisbane games more often, maximising ratings in the game's two strongest markets.

A Perth standalone team would have the same away fans and value to tv as png … zero

Fox and nein have both said they support the bears return

and it’s a no brainer for what they will do for crowds in Sydney and even Brisbane
