Atleast Perth is part of Australia and it would make for a truly National competition because atm that is not what the NRL currently is despite its title.
A PNG team of locals has been in the Q Cup since 2014 winning only one title in 2017 and you expect them to compete at NRL level lol

With elite coaching?

Who knows. As opposed to almost zero players in 2nd tier footy

Funny how perfect Perth is for expansion...then wants the government's help and what now? Salary cap exemptions?
Stop being a troll, no one is saying any of the bid options are perfect. They all face their own challenges.
The NRL should be looking to ho wit can mitigate risk when investing in any new market. Thats what good businesses do.

Id back a squad of PNG locals to be signed by other clubs within 5 years lol
Thats the point!!! Its why the comp wants to expand!!!
Its not wanting to expand to give you a team, it wants players to fill gaps in other clubs.. perth will give them that, but it will take a very long time in comparison to what the P.I.s or PNG can offer

Waits for Perth red to point out the weaknesses of a Perth bid whilst he white ants rival bids with vigour

They've been trying to get clubs on perpetual licenses of 20 years. Its the clubs only threat when it comes to negotiation of grant time.

Problem is a PNG team isnt signing Australian or Kiwi players, why would you go there? so its reliant on PNG players, and guess what ,theyll jump ship to another club first chance in all likelihood. Having to be on the road for 24 games a yr is batsht crazy and makes the concept of PNG in Cairns unviable, imo.
