I expects Bris-Easts to buy out the Broncos

Just like they did with their old LC
Well that would solve their search for a non- Tiger NRL branding.

I wonder if they'd try sneaking orange into club colours? Maybe even skew the tint of the gold that way...

I know this is a troll, but

They are nowhere near that well of, and even if they were why not buy a smaller Sydney club for half the price and relocate them?

the world doesn't work that way. Just because mcdonalds opens 3 new stores in the same suburb doesn't mean it's going to wipe out KFC in that suburb....
You are 100% right in what you are saying but the analogy isn't apt here. Rugby League has been the dominant sport in Moreton Bay, North Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast for many decades. The Lions / AFL started to invest in the grass roots in Burpengary, Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast a decade or so ago. They've got an academy up there somewhere. They were really trying to eat away at our dominance.

The Dolphins being promoted to the NRL and being tasked with that whole region would be very concerning to them. Not only the presence of a team synonymous with the region but one that has been mandated to spend on grass roots as a condition of their entry.

Ask anyone at AFLHQ or the Lions and if they are being honest it is a massive blow for them. A Western Corridor team would dampen their plans out that way too.

Yes, of course the Lions always will exist, there are too many Prictorians here for them not to, but NRL is doing good things here to make sure RL is the number 1 game forever in SEQ.

18th NRL team could be worth an extra $375 million in TV rights negotiations.
The estimation comes as the NRL ramps up expansion plans for an 18-team league with ARL Commission boss Peter V’landys revealing a Pasifika franchise is in the frame to enter the Telstra Premiership by 2027.
That 9th game is always where the dollars for expansion were, that's where we will see the true value of the Dolphins. Personal preference but I hope Perth gets it. I love that the Government wants to throw money at RL but I think the whole thing will end in tears at some stage down the track.

Also, just a thought I've been having lately about this China in the Pacific thing (which is the only reason for this Pacifika team in the first place). Surely China's smart enough to say here's your roads, airports, ports etc (all the goodies they are offering) and oh, we'll fund that NRL team also with a stadium. What I mean is, if all Australia is offering to maintain the relationship is an NRL team, surely China can stack that on top of the pile of goodies they are offering.

Again dipshit any bid will grow the revenue, central coast bears will create a 9th game... the revenue will grow.. you forget your bid has a lot of cons in it, and we can continue to come to Perth every few years for origin and grab that cash, without wasting the time, effort and money on and area that wont do it for themselves, hand out kings over there
Afl $900mill revenue, 5 city metro reach. Politis knows,

So let's get this right:
A Perth bid will need extra funding ( let's say 20 million) instead of 15.
They'll need salary cap exemptions ( maybe 15 million) instead of 12.

They have no players of their own.
So essentially They'll be solely surviving on taking clubs best players because they have more money... that the NRL gave them.
So the struggling tigers, Raiders ect stay down the bottom getting flogged by thier own juniors....
EQUALITY.

All wrong troll. Except the bit about the tigers staying at the bottom.

tbh
that 75 mill a year increase won't cut it if it just gets us up to around 480 mill PA when you consider i think we're under valued by almost that much now in this present deal.

600 mill PA is the figure
for all rights for everything ...

Oh i thought you were talking about what actually will be needed. Your just trolling the trolling.
My bad.
No, I didn't disagree. How else is it going to work? How are you going to get good players to move 4000km away from their family and friends? With the same money?
The Dolphins had a hard time and that's Brisbane, people literally having an option to move home..

$600m is too much. The company paying that goes broke before the 5 years is up

Remembering the current deal starts at $400m cash this year. By the end of it is $460m or so. Add $75m to that and it is on par with the AFL's 18 team comp that aves $550m until 2031
