Albo is the worst PM we've ever had. He's broken all of his election promises and thinks people can charge their electric cars with moonlight.

Is it any wonder he reckons some crackpot team that's based in Cairns and plays all over the place is the solution to foreign affairs with China?

Whether or not you think Albanese is the worst Prime Minister or not (I disagree - you haven’t heard of Billy McMahon or experienced the last decade or so of Australian politics by chance) the simple fact is that Peter Dutton is just not popular and is not cutting through.

For example, the Liberal opposition just lost a by election to a sitting government - the first time this has happened in Australian history and in a historically safe Liberal seat. That’s a terrible sign for them.

At this point in time seeing how far back they are, he is long odds to make it to the next election.

Labor can bank 2 terms and is looking at 3 in all likelihood. Duttons stance on the voice will see younger voters avoid the LNP like the plague.

The great irony of the Liberals current predicament is that it was their great hero John Howard who started weeding out the `wets` in the Liberal party back in the 90`s that has led them to be being this unelectable party of the far right now.
The Labor party are doing to them now on social justice issues what the Liberals did to them on border security- very successfully I might add- not that long ago.

Maybe. I think they probably will be re-elected so long as they don’t self implode ala Kevin 07. A deep recession might change that too.

Nevertheless, I don’t make predictions generally but I would be incredibly shocked if Dutton is the next Liberal Prime Minister. I was shocked that they announced it in the first place - although the first person up as an Opposition Leader never generally becomes Prime Minister (they generally burn through one or two before they find their man or woman) so maybe they know that too.

I`ll be more than shocked, in fact I`ll eat my hat if that bloodless ghoul ever becomes P.M.

I don’t think it would be even mildly likely any future government of any persuasion would renege on funding a Pacifica team.

Why wouldn’t a PNG NRL team build on the Hunters? Surely there have been lessons learned over the time they have been around?

Haha yeah it is incredibly unlikely.

I remember a newspaper article recently where the heading was his wife saying my husband is not a monster.

You know you have a public image problem when you have to resort to that.

Because it won't be a team from Only PNG, if it were it would still be in Cairns, but it would only be about them,

Of which originally i was in favour for and it was meant to be a team to represent both PNG and FNQ,
But the NRL seems to have warped this idea and thrown a whole group of pacific island into it..
Not sure if its thats coz they dont want it to seem racially motivated/specific, but warriors aren't a traditional NZ only team theyve always had a bulk of their squad as locals, but were never against taking on captians or marquees from aus or elsewhere, so i see no difference if it was only FNQ and PNG, or if they are milking the govt for this govt funded "pacific team" instead of just isolating png

They can’t cut it

it’s for the national defence of Australia lol
No its not!! Its to give the PNG and its people a team to aspire to and make efforts to keep that country joined to the hip of Australia, having this team both PNG and FNQ means it's a team from both countries, problem is we don't this team to be square pegged as this political team, hence probably why they are happy to broaden the scope to include other pacific islands, even if its like one game in each island, and bulk in port Moresby

If China invades the png team will be our first line of defence
