Even worse for the swans around 30 percent of their average crowds are scg trust members who get in for freeSwans have a lot of bandwagon fans who will watch them in a grand final and then desert them the rest of the time.

I’m not sure whether that helps or hinders the bid hahaThe FFRXIII are behind the bid.
Hopefully it is accepted by the QRL.
Your bad jokes aren't linking up well, calling cairns qrl "northern pride" a gay team due to a few blacktown boys who aren't progressive is a pretty long bow... although Pacific islanders might feel that way in sydney, the general island folk aren't too fussed about it, and papuans and folk from FNQ won't give two shits, as again a lion is a great moniker or mascot...Will their be a pride jersey?
you can’t see the irony of calling the most homophobic team in the comp that name Lol?
Then take the $25 million a year the government is offering and use it to scout and recruit players from PNG and the Pacific to clubs and add them outside of the existing salary cap. It does the exact same thing without the need for creating a Pacifika team.We can do both, Perfh and NZ2, but it will all be for naught, if we dont have the player stock to give these teams enough talent or lead tine to get thar talent, remember these aren't areas that league is a heartland, like the dolphins inclusion was...
Both are able to produce results... its why im a believer of the pasific bid coming in first bolstering that player pool, then adding important markets
They aint paying for a team of recruiting scouts, the government is paying for an NRL team, you don't give them that, that money doesn't exist periodThen take the $25 million a year the government is offering and use it to scout and recruit players from PNG and the Pacific to clubs and add them outside of the existing salary cap. What does everyone think of this idea for Pacific pathway? The part I really like is that it does offer high quality player pathway opportunities for local residents that should see RL take an even bigger stranglehold on the region. There is plenty of talk about improving political connections/relations in the Pacific and it shouldn’t be outside the realms of opportunity to source both Aus and US government funding support for this idea.
It also gives local opportunity at a relevant standard. I just don’t see an NRL club being based out of any pacific island (bar NZ). The financial resources are simply not there.
Some money would be for scouts. Most would go to players. Then that goes to show that it’s not about player development at all, which is what your argument was. It’s just an exercise in foreign diplomacy. They aint paying for a team of recruiting scouts, the government is paying for an NRL team, you don't give them that, that money doesn't exist period
Albanese isn’t offering 25 million for thatThen take the $25 million a year the government is offering and use it to scout and recruit players from PNG and the Pacific to clubs and add them outside of the existing salary cap. Beat me to itThey aint paying for a team of recruiting scouts, the government is paying for an NRL team, you don't give them that, that money doesn't exist period
Thats right, but your confusing what the NRL want versus what the govt wantSome money would be for scouts. Most would go to players. Then that goes to show that it’s not about player development at all, which is what your argument was. It’s just an exercise in foreign diplomacy.

Png want an nrl team I suspect the foreign diplomacy line is largely bs too and albanese is doing this partly as a league fan and partly to help pngSome money would be for scouts. I know that. But the argument was made that the point of the Pacifika team was for improving player development. But if the government isn’t willing to literally fund scouts and player recruitment, then it’s not for that at all. It’s solely for foreign public relations.Albanese isn’t offering 25 million for that
it’s only for an nrl team

Do they govt want it based on Cairns?Thats right, but your confusing what the NRL want versus what the govt want
Nrl want players, thats why its a pasifika team..
Govt want an NRL team, for the PNG region,
why its based in the Cairn location is moreso to avoid the traps of the 3rd world issues,
Who cares why, if it gets across the line, we'll have another Queensland based as the 18th team and not have to fork out for it, just need to set up all these pathways and logistics to get an acedemy up and running in CairnsPng want an nrl team I suspect the foreign diplomacy line is largely bs too and albanese is doing this partly as a league fan and partly to help png
Based in Cairns. LolLmao
you don’t think a team with 40 million a year in funding won’t be able to afford scouts or being a huge boost for junior development in a nation where our sport is number one
best way to produce juniors is an nrl club
Can’t see them doing much in cairns tbh as it treads on the cowboys toesWho cares why, if it gets across the line, we'll have another Queensland based as the 18th team and not have to fork out for it, just need to set up all these pathways and logistics to get an acedemy up and running in Cairns
Great. That’s my point. So we agree that the government doesn’t care about player development, it’s about politics.Thats right, but your confusing what the NRL want versus what the govt want

Id say they could live with that better, knowing a 1st grade side could attract marquee players easier there than PNG, and a neutral base for a pasific team, makes it safer in terms of factions between all these islands... but realistically all this is pandering anyways, its just about direct pathways into that team..Do they govt want it based on Cairns?
