Great, where is bid?!
You mean the one that’s been ready to bid for years?

So why move a team? I thought you were only interested in your buzzword of the month metros.
Because we don’t need them all In sydney, metros covered, so might as well move one up the road And try and garner some more fans for the game.

ideally we’d have a 20 team comp with

perth club 18
wellington/Christchurch club 19
adelaide club 20

Sydney club to gosford

then eventually png and Sunshine Coast or south brisbane for 21&22

thatd see the comp set up for the next 50 years

Comprehension is difficult for you isn’t it? The two news stories are about the same bid consortium. Led by Cumins.

“The Perth syndicate hoping to build a standalone NRL expansion franchise”

Dolphins ceo also mentioned he has been sharing info with the perth bid this year.

I’m expecting with the govt bid funding announcement we will get some major public stuff coming out in the coming months. Keeping our powder dry at moment as they say,

Yes I know, not because it shouldnt, but because rugby league has rarely shown the courage to grow and take risks. It’s why the game is still stuck in limited areas around the globe.
As opposed to your sport which has almost expanded out of Melbourne!

My point is if you can convince those afl fans to also follow league then you aren't in competition for supporters, capture the overall sports fan audience

You can go to a storm game and count the number of afl scarves to prove this point, as far as dollars are concerned it makes no difference to the club if they are also attending their afl clubs games
A bit like in America when you have fans of both NFL and NBA.
