So, how will a Perth NRL team be different from the massive failure that is the Force?

kicked out of super rugby then the evil east coast narrative started and they had 20k crowds in their silly breakaway competition. Now they’re back in and they have TBA crowds that are lucky to be four figures

to be fair, all those things are on the east coast except maybe the affordable housing. Everyone in Perth wants to live close to the beach though, surely that's not cheap? WA has some of the most beautiful clean beaches in the world however the surf isn't very good, far better on the east and south coast, plus there's more great whites over there.
Living on the beach is cheaper in WA than in NSW or QLD though and the surf is no different than anywhere else, Margaret River is the most popular spot in WA like say Bondi or Cronulla are in NSW but there are many other good local spots.
Great Whites are everywhere, we regularly get them caught in the nets on our local beaches here on the Central Coast.
What you don’t know won’t hurt you lol.

If @mongoose had said Perth instead of WA in regards to the standard of surf they are absolutely correct.
But yes, WA itself has some very gnarly rides. I lived in Perth for a long time, I'd drive the 4 hours every friday arvo just for the better wave.

I wouldn’t be comparing RL with Union in this country. Their whole sport is on a downward spiral - all of their teams in Super Rugby have low crowd numbers and TV audiences and essentially I don’t see how that has any correlation with crowd numbers or audience numbers for the NRL. Their product is c***.

You wouldn’t say that support in the NBL or the A-League is reflective of how much support there is for a League or fumbleball side would you?

Imo Perth will have an easier time than Canberra Newcastle or Townsville

choice of coach is important

Cowboys generate more revenue from football operations than every club bar the Broncos. There are plenty of talented juniors from the North Queensland catchment in the Cowboys' squad. A Perth-based team won't have any of these advantages.

Mate, PNG is years away, a few of my sons mates went there two weeks ago and played the PNG Hunters.
Armed security everywhere they went, how are normal league fans supposed to follow their teams without getting mugged, bashed or even worse.
It’s a pipe dream, or on the pipe dream.

I remember when the PNG Hunters played at Kougari Oval in 2013. Plenty of Papuans travelled to see the team play. Security guards from PNG were brought in to keep the crowd safe.

That doesn’t make Townsville any more an enticing place to go and live for players.

Come to think of it, Perth and surrounds have too many white pointers. They do more damage than a gang of goons.
I'm calling it now ,it's now out of NZ 2 / Whichswitch.

Western Force are the richest sports club in the country. Their owner is worth billions. lol

Of course it matters not a jot, different sports, different competition positioning, as long as an NRl club isnt ran and treat the way the Force have been, and the NRL doesnt turn to sht like Super Rugby has then it'll be fine. And breath everyone...

So you agree Rugby Union is bigger in Perth? Because they are getting 6k crowds.
If the Force folds, I would be more in favour of a team in Perth because we need those fans. But it highlights how hard it is in Perth for non AFL teams.

There getting crowds of 6k in Sydney and Brisbane to Super Rugby games.

Everyone claimed that Rugby was bigger in Melbourne then League to.

The Rebels would be lucky to get a few thousand to most games.

Haha. Just because a billionaire is propping them up doesn't mean they're the richest sports club in Australia. Fat lot its done them anyway. I literally didn't know the Farce still existed.

Doesn't give you much confidence that a league team in WA will succeed if the more popular union is on its last legs.

Rugby has at least triple the registered players as league in Perth
