You live in dream land.

A Perth-based team won't be televised into Perth on FTA 24 times a year. It'll be lucky to get 5 games FTA.

Brisbane's metro population density is 165.6 persons per square km.

Around half of Brisbane's population lives in Moreton Bay, Logan, Ipswich and Redlands.

The population density for Perth metro is 346.7 persons per square km.

and how many times will NZ 2 or PNG be broadcast on FTA do you think? even less than a Perth team

just shut up about the density thing, you have no idea what you are talking about or trying to argue. That area counted as "greater Brisbane" includes huge swathes of rural land and national park. It literally goes down to the NSW border and as far north as Kingaroy lol

Shame Perth can’t play the dolphins every week

just imagine the tv ratings for warriors vs perth
Or raiders vs perth
Cowboys vs perth
Titans vs perth
Probably no worse than most games those teams currently feature in. In fact when donkeys prediction comes true and the 7k perth fta audience goes to 47k they’ll be better than most :)

Why are qlders so scared of AFL? It's nothing in Qld.
The 'AFL is taking the west' narrative is bullshit. They have a stadium there for training and for the AFLW side to play at in front of nobody, that's it.

It's as stupid as the AFL thinking they can take western Sydney. Not going to happen. The Tigers like to push the narrative to make their inclusion look more urgent. They don't need to play that angle though. It is RL heartland that could absolutely support a team and benefit the whole NRL by being included.

Neither PNG nor NZ2 are wanted by Ch9. They want Brisbane 3.

There's a possibility PNG will get more away games on Ch9 because they share the same time zone as Brisbane and Sydney.

How many people from Perth will watch a Thursday or Friday game at 6pm AWST on 9Gem?

I've seen fumbleball grow in Springwood over the last 20 years. It's not as big as rugby league, but it's definitely grown its profile. They've invested heavily in the area.

He's finally making sense. Unbeknownst to him.
Did you not see the part about AwFuL investing heavily in Logan?

They've worked with the LCC and Qld Gov to get land for the Springwood Pumas at Cronulla Park.

The Lions@Springwood Social Club uses gaming revenue to fund the Springwood Pumas. A Perth-based NRL club won't have access to this revenue stream because licenced venues in WA aren't allowed to provide their customers with access to gaming machines.

The ARLC isn't going to invest heavily in Perth. Your mate has been whinging about this problem for years. Without investment it'll end up a poor man's version of the Melbourne Storm, with a team that is poorly supported -- like the Force and Glory -- because it can only attract also-rans and second-rate players.

Great points

can’t argue with any of that

Oh yeah and I know the president of the Springwood AFL and his politician mate Mick De Brenni heavily involved. Both were called out for corruption in the QLD senate and that gravy train has very much stopped. It was all artificial growth paid for by dirty money. Logan is and always will be RL through and through

You've nailed it, and given a whack to ARLC to get off there arse and invest in the game.

This is an absolute blueprint for what we should be doing.

Great points, well made

Will a Perth-based NRL team be given these sort of leg ups?

How do you reckon PNG’s TV ratings will be ?, most of the houses over there are lucky to even have electricity.
The Cowboys have now come out against a Cairns based PNG side.

Zero in it for the aus broadcasters. It's only gonna be a burden to them having to go there.

Dogshit, and unlike NZ there own broadcasters won't be able to pay anything like 10s of millions to the NRL.

Fox in particular will get nothing from it.

If it comes down to the broadcasters' interests then there's only one candidate.

Head of Strategy WWOS Simon Fordham:

“We’re really committed to working with the NRL in growing the competition, and Queensland is a big part of that. We think there’s room for another team here in Queensland, and the Dolphins have been the perfect example."
