18th club, whose next?

I'm guessing that this thread is the one to type a blog-like post. It is my Friday night after all, and i'm in wind down time.
I think I'm in the minority here as I want all bids to succeed.
Perth- pure selfishness here, I lived there for a few years in the early 90's and the place loved rugby league. Others have posted their stats on juniors of that time etc, but I was there. It was very popular. I feel it would be even mores now if given the chance.
PNG_ I was/am against this idea purely on the principle of the federal govt being involved in a high content. I hate politicians/politics etc. They are all self-mongering liars, I do not trust any of them.
In saying that, after reading through all the positive aspects, I am actually on board with PNG having a team in the NRL. I just wish the Aust Govt money went to building up their whole systems, schooling etc, and for the main team to be funded by big business, not politicians. If this was to occur I'd personally be stoked.
NZ2- this is just about my favourite bid. Start this and it would role on to all of the Oceania Region.
Bris 3- I loved it when the Dolphins came in, and I'd love another team up there. They deserve it.

Off topic here, but I also love going to Vegas.
All of this talk of physical expansion, we also need monetary expansion. If it works then these teams will be in sooner than later from the excess funding.

All pros, cons are:
More kids playing the game. This needs addressing International wise.
Just as important, more bloody good coaches. There really isn't enough good coaches going around. Every silent bid is harkening on Wayne Bennett ffs.

On HBF in Perth. Its fine for an NRL team at this point in time. Hopefully they would grow so Optus Oval has to take them in.

Just a reminder people, these are all my own opinions. They are not up for debate or silly squabbling between the two factions.
Peace

Hbf park is a dump

if the wa govt really wanted a rugby league team they would build a brand new 30k stadium for the code

playing at a tarted up hbf park is an embarrasment

but I guess we are beggars in wa

unlike in ong where we have the federal govt png govt and cairns council all falling over themselves to support the bid

So your claim that other geographic locations wouldn't attract talent was bullshit.

Playing in PNG isn't going to be a big attraction for NRL players.

I said it won't get any elite talent, As my post above said. They won't have trouble filling a squad they will have trouble filling a Top 8 squad.

There is a big difference. How long is a new audience going to put up with fighting for spoons... So I will say it again. Junior development is more important then the location for team 18

It will fly in. Fly out like any away game in the comp

Then PNG being a shit hole to live in is no issue
Pasifika Grizzly Bear's 🐻
Based in Sydney WOW the juniors would love it
Would aspire the whole Pacific region
Living in Sydney. Playing in Sydney
And all eastern coast of Australia
And pacific. PNG. NZ

No one knows the details of the bid.

The options we have heard

PNG stand alone - Home base for NRL side in Cairns

Brisbane Easts/PNG - based in Brisbane

Then of course the Bears based in Sydney

The pathways will be in PNG. The side based somewhere here... Assuming it gets team 18 that is.

All options don't need to attract Talent to PNG just the host city.

Assuming Northern Pride align with the Cairns base then you have 2 feeder teams under the NRL side. With the exception of PNG Hunters come junior teams already in place.

That offers what say NZ 2 and Perth can't do. With the safety level that is PNG's huge negative taken out of play

Plus 60 million pa

take out the jealous Perth and cowboys fans and then see what the rest are saying and if they have actually read about the bid

Perth needs to build a quality rectangular stadium if it wants to attract more premium football events. There's nothing more amateurish than seeing 20-30m of open grass between the sidelines and the spectators. It kills the atmosphere.

If it was a Sydney stadium the Perth dead fans would be mocking it

it’s on par with Campbelltown
There's nothing wrong with HBF stadium, it will do to get a franchise licence, we've let in the dolphins in with a 12k stadium, so thats just being disgenious,
Now we even have a possible Pasifika team using both Santos Stadium and Barlow park, among other Island parks, that will still make HBF seem like the taj mahal, so im not sure why theres a whohah about how bad the perth stadium is, could it be better maybe in future it can be another hunter or WIN stadium or even AAMI, but it doesn't need any work now to e able to host RL fixtures
