You do know they play sell out soccer, rugby league and union events at our amazing $1.2bill stadium dont you lol?

Sure spend $300mill for two clubs that draw 10k on a good day. That'd be a great use of tax payer money!
The force used to average close to 20k

and still they played at a dump

heck the toilets at optus probably cost more than hbf park
in a 15k stadium? That'll be a neat trick
it will be upgraded to at least 25k

I hope they build a 50k seat stadium then they would average over 3 times Perths crowds

Rectangular codes aren’t important in wa

they’ve had two rectangular codes for decades and the ground is a dump whilst no expense was spared for the fumblers

what does it say about our code that we would listen to a govt which puts afl first and daylight second

playing at optus doesn’t work either it’s far too big and an oval the atmosphere will be awful for nrl games

even Melbourne got it right with aami park that’s what’s needed
Western Australia's media chucked a tantum when Brisbane got the 2020 AwFuL GF. The idiots felt they were entitled to it, despite the fact their Gov weren't willing to spend any money and had the most ludicrous quarantine measures that made it impossible to host the game.

The WA Gov just doesn't have a clue when it comes to attracting sports events.

afl blah blah blah

State of origin locked in for 2025 and 2028. That must burn, especially as we'll get bigger crowds than Brisbane lol

Reds couldn't average 10k for two-thirds of their existence. Force were averaging three times as much at Subiaco. Glory were getting 14k in the NSL.

There would two tenants in this $300mill stadium you want built. Both struggle to fill 50% of current capacity. why would the govt spend money on that? Any sports event that needs more than a 20,500 capacity is played in the state the art $1.2 bill 60k capacity stadium.

Until either of the two tenants, or a future NRL club, needs a better home stadium no major public money is getting spent.

That’s what happens when you have a state that loves rugby league

one tenant one new stadium

heck even Penrith are getting 300 million on theirs

poor Perth can’t manage it with 2 tenants
Only taken Penrith 60 years. Maybe in 60 years perth will get one lol
