..& get somebody else to fund it. If NFL ever gets a London team they won't be giving them money to prop them up..

Nobody was arguing that private investment isn’t needed but are you really suggesting that sports like cricket or soccer through ICC or FIFA haven’t invested money in say a market like the States? Is that your argument.

What do you mean ‘needs to’ they already have starting back 30 years ago!
4 clubs in nsw and qlnd v 1 club in Vic, SA and WA. Hmmmmm
They HAD to do it and NEED to continue to prop up the unwanted teams. RL doesn't need to do that. We need to leverage our heartlands and Victoria way better because that is 70% of the population is. A Perth team will be a good addition to that solid foundation.

Stop misquoting me

What like this

“@Colk boasting about having no afl fans as friends is weird & insular.”

By the way I didn’t boast. I just said that I don’t socialise day to day with people who follow fumbleball because I live in Newcastle. I am not asking it to weed them out, it is just a matter of the micro environment.

But you could state the same of the Melbourne Storm ?, News Ltd had propped them up with $$$ year after year after year, yes they won Premierships both legally and off the books, they have been in the NRL since 1998 and they are finally showing some growth in the VIC market, now if you compare that to this article on the Swans and GWS isn’t it exactly the same without showing any rugby league bias in saying that it isn’t ?.
I wouldn’t bag either the AFL or NRL for having a dig in either market which is stacked against them, good on them for having a crack I reckon.

Where did I say NZ 4?

Read my post again. Perth & NZ2 as 18th and 19th teams, team 20 open to all bids.

Great for NZ if we get 2 of those 3 expansion spots... but if we just get one of them, then lay groundwork for a 3rd NZ team at some future stage.
NZ could have more team's than Brisbane soon

Yep you can say the same of the storm

dots in a map is a bad strategy for any code

esp when we have places that can support real rugby league CLUBS which the storm really aren’t

they are a patchwork team

Why does everyone keep bringing up AFL like they are the only sport that has teams in the 5 major metros? It's all sports except us and rugby.
It's just obvious that you go the major cities! Every other sport has worked this out.

It’s not just fumbleball or relevant to just here in Australia.

It’s essentially most sports.
