sigh, buy a clue. Keep flogging that dead horse mate.
There is very clearly a Perth bid consortium, they've been in the media, Sackson has talked about them, the Dolphins CEO has talked about meeting with them.
After serious egg on the face in 2012 after all the big hoopla about the Reds/Pirates bid they have decided to keep it under the table this time. Good idea, especially as it looks like they are going to miss out again to PNG, once bitten twice shy.

But yeh you believe your delusions if you want, youre just making yourself look a twat.

Ur linking a story from 2020 - before covid - saying group is going to be formed!! We still waiting..

and the story last year? And Sackson and Dolphins ceo talking about them this year? You just going to pretend you didnt see them? As I said you're making yourself look a twat ignoring the clear evidence there is a Perth NRL bid consortium led by Cumins.

Bid hasn't formed yet. It's been four years: still looking for businessmen with names..

U literally needed to provide link from almost 4 years ago saying they gonna to form group!!!
Thats when the new consortium was formed you merkin. From 5 months ago:

“There is a consortium of very successful businessman in Perth who are also passionate rugby league people that are working behind the scenes and doing lots of ground work,” Sackson said.
“I believe Western Australia can present a very very compelling if not irresistible case in it’s own right without partnering up with a club on the east coast in a joint venture situation.”

but yeh keep looking a twat and denying a perth consortium exists lol

maybe in 2007, no one said that in 2021 dickhead
Don't you get tired of being wrong?

Titans employed Gemba to look at the impact of expansion on them. They were against it.

There's still people on here saying Broncos and Titans won't allow a third team in Brisbane. You're one of those nutters.

yeah a 3rd team, not a 2nd team (dolphins). Everyone knew a 2nd Brisbane team was a sure thing, everyone.

Maybe some within the Broncos and Titans clubs were against it, but that is no surprise.

I remember Perth Red saying Perth would get in ahead of Brisbane 2. You also claimed Perth was a chance of getting in. Then V'landys said "no money will be wasted on rusted on AFL states". Hilarity ensued because all the know-it-alls, such as yourself, had to shut up.

The Broncos and Titans got what they wanted by ensuring the 3rd SE-Qld team skews northwards.

The Dolphins were the perfect choice for the incumbent SE-Qld teams, because it doesn't tread on their toes as much as Ipswich, The Bombers bid, or Firehawks would've.

Problem is that a 4th SE-Qld team WILL tread on their toes, and expect their reservations - if not outright OBJECTIONS - to be voiced strongly.

Next month’s meeting won’t be limited to possible rule changes, with the commission set to discuss the prospects of bringing in an 18th team as early as 2026.

Papua New Guinea has emerged as the frontrunners, with the Australian government reportedly willing to financially back the bid to strengthen diplomatic ties in the region with growing fears over China’s influence in the Pacific.

The NRL has learnt plenty from the most recent expansion team, the Dolphins, which is why bringing a team like PNG in by 2026 may be premature given concerns over infrastructure, travel and the difficulties they’ll face with recruitment.

“Growth is absolutely at the forefront of the commission’s focus, and they’ve said all along that they want to invest in growth and growth in the men’s and the women’s teams, so moving from 17 to 18 is our next step,” Abdo said.

“We’re hard at work looking at when the right time is for that and how that all fits together. And obviously we’ve had a huge amount of interest, not just from our fans in PNG, but fans across Australia and New Zealand and in the Pacific.

“And that’s great for our sport to be in a situation where there’s this huge demand.

“The commission will think carefully, look at all the opportunities that lie ahead of us and then start planning for what that growth looks like.”

Gemba report found Broncos had a greater percentage of fans in Moreton Bay than Logan and Ipswich.

How about this for an idea...

NRL announces Perth & NZ 2 as teams 18 and 19 - in either order, or even added at the same time.

For Perth, it's the Pirates bid.
For NZ2, throw it open to bids from NZ cities outside Auckland, choose NZ 2 on best business case.. and maybe have the Bears would be involved with one of those bids.

For team 20, throw it WIDE OPEN to bids from anywhere - Brisbane, Adelaide, NZ 3, you name it. Choose the most compelling business case.

Now, the chances are that Brisbane 3 (especially the Easts Tigers bid) will likely win the race for team 20, so as a contingency arrange regular games in Adelaide & some across NZ to get the buzz going there, with an eye on either relocation or expansion there if/when feasible.
NZ 4 are considered 😂

Where did I say NZ 4?

Read my post again. Perth & NZ2 as 18th and 19th teams, team 20 open to all bids.

Great for NZ if we get 2 of those 3 expansion spots... but if we just get one of them, then lay groundwork for a 3rd NZ team at some future stage.

Calm down
NZ won't get NZ 2
