Questions about me, or just plain ol' Questions, seems you're bored and enjoy writting very long retorts... I'm still in the not caring mood, you seem to be triggered by me or others that don't do the whole argument/discussion thing you think this forum is specifically built for... i personally just get my kicks from baiting you all...

What will you do if the Rugby Sevens in Perth generates a larger crowd than the 24k who attended the NRL 9s over two days?

Why do you bring up the 43k for the double header but ignore the 24k who turned up for the 9s?
I'll applaud their marketing. It has been far far superior to the NRL nines marketing.
24k for a pre season two days in Feb held on Fri afternoon of valentines night is not a bad result lol

I knew you would blame the shit turn out in Perth on the NRL.

Why don't you blame poor marketing for the World 9s not drawing a huge crowd at Parramatta Stadium?

A women's fumbleball game got over 30k to Perth Stadium on the second day of the NRL 9s.

it wasnt a sht turn out, it was on par for the event, timing and promotion given.
heck the world nines in a Rl heartland with twice the population only drew 28k! Im sure there where reasons for that as well. But in your delusional mind it was a Perth issue lol.

and? afl game drew more in an afl city? wow groundbreaking news lol

I have no doubt if theyd held it on a sat and sun it would have topped 30k easily.

It was a shit turn out, regardless of the bullshit excuses you've plucked out of your arse.

There's no way you would use these sort of excuses to justify such a miserable crowd in any other city.

How much promotion did the event need to draw a larger crowd?

How much promotion was it given?

Since when has international football drawn big crowds in Sydney?

It wasn't an "afl game" [sic] you clown. It was an AFLW game. Western Australians preferred to watch 34 women compete against each other than follow the NRL 9s.

Why do you have "no doubt" it would have drawn "30k"?

The final day was on the Saturday. It drew just 14k. If the final day could only draw 14k then there's no way the first day would draw 16k. You're just making up shit because you cannot accept the event was a flop.

You reap what you sow. Like I said, hold it sat and sun and it tops 30k. 10 of us went on the Sat, none of us went the friday night due to being valentines night.
Sydney nines drew 28k, last time nines in NZ drew 22k, Perth 25k.
So maybe your expectations are the problem, not the perth crowd?
Because nearly 15k turned up on sat, sun would have likely drawn more. Kicking it off at 4pm on a Friday afternoon on valentines night, we were lucky 10k turned up!
there was hardly any marketing for it. Rugby sevens my social media is flooded with ads, there's ads running on local radio and in the west. I'll be interested to see the crowds and how well marketing can actually work here.

Yeh a local derby in aflw is more popular than a pre seasons nine. And?
43k turned out for NRl this year. must make nrl now more popular than aflw?

You're just making up shit and passing it off as "fact".

How do you know the final day would have drawn more on a Sunday than a Saturday?

There's no way you can prove verify that statement.

The fact remains that 14k showed up on the final day. There's no way the event would have got 30k if it was run over a Saturday and Sunday.

You go on about poor advertising being the reason the NRL 9s drew a shit crowd. If what you're saying about advertising for the Rugby Sevens is true, then what does that tell you about the Perth media?

It tells me that the Perth media is far more favourable towards rugby union than it is towards rugby league. That's a huge roadblock standing in the way of the Pirates. RU doesn't have a huge amount of money to spend.

How many of the 43k at the double header were locals who paid for a ticket?

I saw on Facebook that thousands of tickets were given away for free. If that's true and your estimate of 10k tourists flew over for the event, then there might have been just 25k locals who bought a ticket.

The 2014 NRL Auckland Nines drew 89,000 attendees.

Last 3 Nines events
Sydney 28k
NZ 22k
Perth 25k

so whose wrong here, your expectation or the Perth crowd? lol

What it tells me is that Sevens Union are much better at marketing. Most of it is paid for advertising.

again for the hard of learning, an estimated 33-38k locals at NRL this year. Its highly amusing you are somehow trying to turn a 43k crowd in Perth for NRL into a negative, hardly any free tickets, this isnt sydney lol

in 2014 great, What did the last one draw? whats that telling you?

The first Perth 9s drew just 28% as many spectators as the first Auckland 9s. It shows there's more potential in New Zealand 2.

The Rugby Sevens could deliver a serious blow to Perth's chances of getting an NRL team. A strong crowd will be compared to the poor one that attended the Perth 9s. You and @Bukowski will have to eat crow if the Sevens draws significantly more than 25k. The pair of you claim rugby league has a bigger following than rugby union in Perth.

haha, 43k for NRl in perth doesnt count but a big crowd in Auckland for nines shows Christchurch should get a club. Perth drew 200% the avg NRL crowd last year, shows Perth is a better option lol

whose ever claimed that? Ive never suggested that, there's probably more union fans here, or at least on par now Perth is getting so many interstate migrants from NSw and Qlnd. Force drew well before Super rugby became a basket case. Union tests have generally drawn well.
League has drawn well for the large part for RL events here. Horses for courses, Id say they are not dissimilar in fanbase, largely due to the SA and Kiwi migration to Perth. What I dont doubt is RL could overtake them with an NRL club bringing more focus to the game here.

As for nines v 7's crowds, well they arent holding theirs at a stupid time and they are marketing it so Id be surprised if it isnt better attended. You reap what you sow.

One off games don't count. Barcelona drew record superleague crowd - they aren't getting a team
