What does it say?
Nothing really. Something about playing origin in Perth is bad idea because of how the WA govt handled covid... not really anything to do with expansion.

There is "tension' between Jessica Yates and Hannah Hollis though in the fox studio. I think Lara Pitt is the best of the women on fox.

Weidler last week said Perth shouldn’t get an origin cause it doesn’t have an nrl team

this week he said the arlc had actually looked at taking the game from Perth but didn’t due to fear of legal action

it is weidler though I love reading his gossip but most of it is bs

The thing about the Dolphins was absolute bs. I agree that they have needed more time before coming in but to compare them to a dead club is irresponsible. Also criticising them about Ponga is absurd - the Ponga family strung them along and according to those texts they flat out lied to them

NZ2 will be the kick up the arse the Warriors need. It’ll also attack Union in NZ. Not only will it target Union players, and give them more exposure and opportunities in NZ & Australia, it’ll also attract sponsorship away from semi-professional provincial teams and cause more financial stress to the NZRU.
The NRL can pay young emerging players more than rugby can. If this team clicks, much like the Crusaders have and the Warriors continue to improve, it’ll give Union an all mighty shake.
NZ 2 will definitely drain the NZRU of viable commercial partners and access to talented juniors. If we can get two successful NRL teams in NZ then we should plan on a third to really sink the boot in.

Canterbury Bulldogs to Christchurch could be the third team if things don't turn around for them in Sydney.

Danny Weidler is a cretin. He is the one who obviously doesn’t like Perth.

It is obvious that the Dolphins needed more time but I wouldn’t imply that they are the new Crushers - typical Weidler sensationalism.
Every new club to enter really needs 3 years to set it all up properly and this is how the ARLC should do it from now on

Also fancy having a go at them for the Ponga debacle - the Ponga clan were the ones who acted unprofessionally in all of this. That’s another thing about Weidler - he loves fluff pieces about players of defends them constantly but has a go at everybody else.
The Ponga faction are the biggest grubs in the game since SBW and Billy Slater. Last night Ponga used his feet to kick out at kick chasers twice while in the air. He's a grub, just like Slater, and his father is no better than Damir Dokic.

If we could get one it would be a good start!

So how does that translate for you to arlc doesn’t like Perth? Lol
its known at beginning of year they wanted assurances wa would be open up in time for origin, which they got.

since people think expansion depends on the on field performance of teams in that region, NZ should not get a second team for a long time based on todays effort.

My god they were ordinary. Whilst I nominally agree with another team based on the overwhelming growth in numbers from Kiwi players, as well the potential development opportunities etc, the Warriors are a massive concern.

I just don’t understand their problem and what to do about it. You don’t want to bring in another side and create further problems for the Warriors etc.

Two years away from home doesn’t help

the arlc are worried about the state of the game in nz given the warriors absence

that’s why they scheduled the tonga test there before the warriors make their return

that idea for the warriors to play every game of a season in New Zealand was great but sadly abdo didn’t support it

losing Gould was a massive blow

Obviously the fact they haven’t been at home is massive but let’s be honest they have had problems for a long time.

The fact that they haven’t consistently been a good side or made a significant development in relation to RU and its junior development is an argument that one could make against putting another side there. Now, I don’t actually think that the ARLC shouldn’t have more of a crack at union but their lack of on field and off field success does give pause for concern.

If they do put another side, the ARLC need to give the Warriors and the new side a real big hand with financial and other support to really make this work

Yet they added the dolphins and the broncos had won the spoon
yeah but the difference is the Broncos established themselves as a successful power club many years ago, they have 6 premierships. Then you have the Cowboys who have 1. The Titans are the team who will be most worried about the Dolphins coming in.

The Warriors have been an ongoing disappointment since 1995 and are showing just because they have access to a lot or raw talent doesn't mean its guaranteed success. It's definitely concerning for any future expansion teams in NZ,

My mob lost to them too. Your team was devastated by the loss of Fogarty and Hodgson in the first round. No team can rebound from that. You're not doing too bad considering the circumstances.

A second NZ team might help the Warriors reach their potential. It will definitely take a lot of pressure off them by not being the sole representative of NZRL. Having to compete with another team for fans and players might help them become more professional. Going back to being the Auckland Warriors would definitely help them form an identity.

A 3rd Brisbane team please
I'd love to see the Firehawks in the NRL. They would be more of a competitor to the Brisbane Lions than the Broncos and Titans as they're based next door to them and cover the same territory. If PVL and co want to take the fight to AwFuL in Brisbane then the Firehawks are the team to do it.
