Just 1 last time, Cairns is north Queensland..
The reason they're the north Queensland cowboys is simple: Mackay, Townsville and Cairns are all far too small for a team of their own. So collectively they are North Queensland.
Cairns not only has a small population but they are most certainly captured as Cowboys fans if they follow sport..

There's not going to be more than the png expat community which there are few.
There's never going to be a rivalry. It's literally somewhere to live that is close and not smouldering in a state of national emergency.

The council up there are sticking their noses to get some of that sweet fed cash.

Latest I heard was Australian companies are shut and pulling out of the country..soldiers patrol the streets, members of parliament have quit and they want the PM gone...while you lot on here want to board a flight and play footy , then fly back to your adoring fans in Cairns...

There isn't any money in playing in PNG, and it's a logistical nightmare (as I've said repeatedly)
