Aren't the Brisbane Roar very open about how they are on the bones of their arses?

I'm pretty sure the only team not struggling financially is Melbourne City, and that's because they are owned by a gulf state.

But the team that hasn't had an owner for 3 years makes it much easier to show how dumb his post was.

Come on mate. There's no comparison.
It doesn't cost much to run an A-League club. An NRL club runs on an operating budget of $30-45m.

Soccer is more popular than rugby league in Perth.

The reality is a Perth-based NRL team will have to generate at least 3 to 5 times as much revenue in a market that is mad about fumbleball. Glory have the luxury of not competing directly with the Eagles and Dockers for sponsorship and corporate hospitality. An NRL club will be going head to head with the Eagles, Dockers and Twiggy Forrest's Force.

Newcastle hasn't been in a position to financially support an A-League team since 2021, so therefore we should kick out the Knights.

Newcastle is a rugby league city. Perth isn't.

Gold Coast and Townsville Aleague clubs went bust aswell.
Damn were gonna be losing some NRL clubs.
😅

Gold Coast and Townsville are rugby league cities. Perth isn't.

Don't worry Donkey, wb1234 will be along soon to tell you that you are totally right, and you are so smart, so then you can ignore the facts as usual.

You're dumb as shit if you cannot see the idiocy of comparing regional rugby league cities, such as Gold Coast, Newcastle and Townsville with a geographically isolated fumbleball city that hates rugby league.

FYI, Cowboys generated more revenue from football operations than every rugby league club in the world except the Broncos in 2022. Let that sink into your brain cell like the blood soaks into your tampon.

This is a pretty stupid argument mate.

Soccer is popular pretty much throughout the country and there are probably more people who have an interest in the EPL than the NRL. That interest hasn’t helped the A-League though and for a variety of reasons.

The reality is if you really want a team in png this is it

we will never get this kind of govt support or an nrl boss with the guys to try it

are you afraid they might actually succeed

we’re talking about minor sports struggling against the major sport in each city

If Perth cannot financially support an A-League team then it certainly isn't in a position to hold an NRL licence.
lol,we can now add soccer to no Perth team due to:
union being crap
afl being good
Cricket doing well
basketball doing well

i wonder how our netball club is going? Are they a reason not to as well? On,y donkey can tell us!

No it makes total sense! Get rid of the eels as no one goes to wanderes anymore, get rid of the knights as the newcastle soccer club needs bailing out. Storm never going to make it as melbourne city are a joke.

It’s donkey logic lol

I dont think it’s fear of success but inevitably of failure that is more of a concern to most.

What about Western Sydney: MacArthur FC aren’t a picture of health.

Yep, that's the Tigers gone. The Wanderers are struggling financially as well, so that's the Eels out. Roar have been struggling financially for a decade, so that's Broncos and Dolphins out.

Not many teams left under donkey's logic.

9 teams and the Dragons still won't make the top 8.

Perth Glory drew an average of 14,979 fans to their home games in the 1997-98 NSL season.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1997–98_Perth_Glory_SC_season

Guess what the Perth Reds drew to their home games in 1997?

8,776.

The Reds' best season -- 13,390 in 1995 -- was still below the Glory's average in 97-98.

What's stupid is you thinking rugby league will be more popular than soccer at the professional level in Perth. History proves you're wrong.

Face it mate. You’ve been caught arguing that the failure of an A-League is somehow a sign that a Rugby League side would fail in the same market when there is clearly no correlation.

You didn’t mention fumbleball until it was shown to you that A-League is essentially struggling everywhere.
