Wouldn’t want anything to do with PNG to be honest, the Bears haven’t had any talks at all with that bid despite what Perth Red says, that whole set up will be absolute carnage.
Andrew hill stated png had no interest partnering with bears. WA had a conversation and bears then announced they were going it alone as nsw bears. Face it no one want nsfc running a club in their city,

Makes sense in terms of getting backing from an existing base, access to juniors, natural fit for colours.
However it’ll be a VERY hard sell for parochial locals to accept a transplanted Aussie team- especially one that seems to want as much say in things as the Bears do. Perth I feel would be more accepting of the brand?
1. Branding changed to WA bears or Perth bears
2. license and club majority ownership by wa consortium
3. 11 games in Perth
4. guaranteed funding and focus on developing wa players

tick those boxes and I’m sure the Perth RL community will support the bears brand relocation to here.

Solid and logical. Careful though apparently I’m an alt.

I doubt the NZRL would have enough cash to own NZ2, it’d likely be privately owned like the Warriors
They should do what they do what they do in WA with afl. Ie Nzrl own the license, bears pay nzrl $1mill a year to use the license to play in nz. Up to the bears to decide which city makes most commercial sense. Then if bears don’t make it work nzrl still own the license and someone else can take over the rights to use it.

the big issue everyone glosses over with the bears is that we arent talking a swans or lions relocation scenario, or an nfl club moving cities scenario. What the ns bears want is to own and run the club fully. That’s not relocation, that’s just playing games in another city. That’s why both PNG and Perth have said they aren’t interested in a partnership.

Yeah but the difference would be that the good successful times mostly keeps a lid on both sets of fans bickering and sniping at each other which sole entity teams don’t have to contend with.
Ha, the you have no idea, coz the same exact shit happens at canterbury and Parramatta for their entire existence, even broncos has had issues, the whole 2 factions thing isn't new, doesnt matter if its a joint merger or not

See even Perth red can make concessions

if the bears don’t accept these conditions they can rot in the nswrl and forget about an nrl license

I agree with these as most Bears fans do, get on the Den or Bears Yass on Facebook and do some research but just leave your conspiracy theories to yourself.
Sure there are Bears fans out there who are still saying have the Bears play out of North Sydney Oval or Central Coast Stadium but everybody knows these guys are a sandwich short of a picnic.
I just say to them “If you aren’t in favour of the Perth Bears or whatever path the NRL direct the Bears to take nothing actually changes for you anyway as the Bears are still playing in the NSW Cup as they are now”.

As for PNG, they don’t want to partner with anybody, why would they ?, they are guaranteed with Govt backing $$$ after all to enter the promised land of the NRL as team 18, or are they ?.

All home games at Perth for me. They will be playing nine Sydney teams away so plenty of opportunities for the good people of N. Sydney to watch their team play. A couple of trial games at NSO for locals to see up-and-comers and the colours at the old stomping ground. The ground simply isn’t NRL standard. Give them a couple of seats on the board to protect the colours and Bear IP. Swans strategy, a good template to follow imo.

I'd be ok with one 'Home game" being played in Sydney if it makes commercial sense. it shouldnt be for nostalgia or to appease NSFC but if it makes the club good money then so be it. Whether that's NSFC paying the Perth Bears for one game at NSO, or taking a game v Manly to Allianz to sell tickets, link with corporates and have as part of a Sydney membership doesnt matter to me. But only reason it should be done is for $'s.
Would also give me another excuse for a boozy weekend in Sydney :)

But alcohol destroys facilities and communities mate. You shouldn’t have alcohol.

Bear Park only holds 10k now so it should be ruled out

I dont think they are, and Im not sure you really do tbh. You do realise that the model I am proposing has a WA owned club running as the Bears with very little NSFC control or say? Most Ive seen on those pages think it'll be the NSFC board and management running the clubs till but just playing in a different city. Mainly because that is how the NS Bears keep promoting it.
The whole" We'll play anywhere" line just smacks of what they actually are proposing. NSFC running a club playing in another city.

Not from the discussions I’ve had, Bears fans just want the Bears back, red and black heck I’d even add some yellow for WA.
