Not spending hours looking for them again lol

when they come up again I’ll tag you

Here you are. It didn’t take me hours

There are two Fox Sports articles since 2021 (i.e when the Dolphins were announced) One article is about the announcement of the Tigers and another weighing up each option (so they are talking about everybody.

BTW there is no article about them wanting another Brisbane side. Again, I think they are as good a chance as anybody barring probably PNG but nobody at Fox Sports are mentioning another Brisbane side atm.

So it's not about wanting more games in southeast QLD, as more games in southeast QLD apparently hold $0 value to them.

They lost four Broncos games and there was no one else bidding for the rights. News Ltd paid an extra $20m a year for the Dolphins and and four more Broncos games.

What's to stop them getting another one and then refusing to pay any more, because they lost more Broncos games?

Depends on if it's in the contract.

What do you think happens to ch9 if they lose the NRL? They become that ch10 that nobody wants anything to do with.

Ch9 will lose marketshare, but they're not in the same precarious position as Ch10.

The 6pm news on Ch9 draws strong ratings. There's plenty of programs on Ch9 that draw strong ratings.

Ch10 often gets out rated by the ABC.

They hold only as much power as we give them. You want to hand the control of the game over to them purely because you think they'll give you something you want.

Ch9 also own the old Fairfax publications. Ch10 don't have a stake in the print media. Losing access to Ch9 means less promotion in the print media.

The way things are shaping up, it wouldn't surprise me if teams 18 and 19 are Perth Jets & Christchurch Bears (maybe each adding a colour to Newtown's blue & white and North Sydney's red & black)

If that happens, team 20 would either be PNG or another Queensland club (or.. dare I say it.. some kinda bizarre Frankenstein's monster created by splicing the two together)

Yeeeesh. :(

If PNG doesn't get the 18th licence during Albo's first term as Prime Minister then they might never get another opportunity.

I think most here have that 3, just the order.

I'd have the Fiji Flegg team feed into Christchurch aswell. Really strengthen the Pacific ties international and a new club gets a bonus

There's never been a 'ticket rights agreement' anything like what you're proposing in the past. There's been short term, equitable, reciprocal rights deals between some clubs, and discounted ticket offers for other clubs members, but never, ever, has there been a deal that gave the right to one club to sell tickets to another's home games as part of a membership package. That's something else, an unrealistic, total bull shit fantasy, something else.

And I'm not being "negative", I'm just being realistic.

You're the one with the problem, you've become so desperate for an NRL side in Perth that you've abandoned all standards and stopped caring about the broader consequences. It's pitiful and gross.
Pretty sure warriors had a sydney game membership, pretty sure a number of clubs still have a membership for fans in other states when they play there. Sorry mate but you’re plain wrong on this one!

eg https://experience.melbournestorm.com.au/membership/away3

not at all, I’ve clearly stated I won’t accept a bears club in Perth that doesn’t meet what I’d consider to be an acceptable outcome for perth. But I’m also not opposed to a partnership that could benefit perth. its worked very successfully for swans, no reason it couldn’t work for perth under right circumstances. If those circumstances aren’t met I’d rather we waited another 20 years than have an east coast club fifo into perth.

The only way the Perth Bears can succeed is if all of their home games are played in Perth. North Sydney Bears remain in the NSW Cup.

47% increase in Brisbane content for $0. f**k what ch9 think!
Is this what you think the NRL will do or what you want them to do when the next broadcast deal is negotiated?

I don't see any evidence of V'landys and the clubs standing up to Ch9. They've bowed down to Ch9 and Foxtel since the ARLC was formed.

It’s what I want them to do. Theyre terrible partners for the game and Vlandys let them stiff us big time in this deal. f**k them and what they want.

I'd like to see the game sign with Ch10/Paramount, but I don't believe it will happen. We'll probably get a split arrangement between Ch9/Foxtel. I'd be happy to see Ch9/STAN get the lot just to get away from Foxtel.
