Yeh Melbourne has had great retention of juniors they had to break the cap to do it

same as afl they all want to go home to be near family and friends
That happened 15 years ago. They’ve been retaining great players ever since. Players clearly love the club and culture.

Relevance? Some have by the way but who cares? I know you hate the Storm with absolute irrational passion but give us a break.
Storms best players are from qld or nz

they had to pay overs to keep them from wanting to go home

so if Melbourne are competing with a club like western coridoor it’s obvious the brisbane team has a huge advantage

a western coridoor nrl team will have huge advantages, as will nz2

If that was the case then why wouldnt Broncos have signed all these star Storm jnrs? They could have stayed at home for them, or the GC? Reality is players take opportunities outside their suburb for a variety of reasons. Quality of coaching, success, money, opportunity, want to get away and so it goes on.

the S/SW corridor has 4 development clubs feeding NRL clubs right now, if youre a talented player in that area you have a plethora of opportunity to make it in the NRL.

Stormaphobia - a condition suffered by sad men with an obsessive hatred of the Melbourne Storm.

The good news is that it is treatable. You just need to get over it and move on.

In smiths case they had a hooker ahead of him

slater they didn’t rate

having only one brisbane club the opportunities for qld talent were dire

Try and stick to the topic and provide an answer to the points I raised thanks

You don’t make any points worth responding to. All you do is show how much you hate the club by making utterly stupid, irrational and inaccurate statements.
Sure I do

it’s easier for Brisbane tigers to develop and keep nrl players than the storm

from an expansion viewpoint when it comes to juniors clubs like Perth will always struggle against rivals

as the storm has shown

Oh dear. A broken record. There is clear evidence available for you to read that the Storm are successfully building pathways into their club. I’ve posted it regularly. It’s taken longer than it might have but it’s now reaping dividends in their rep teams. Perth will have no trouble emulating that model and doing the same. Your irrational hated of clubs outside the east coast is disturbing.

But Brisbane tigers are developing players FOR the Strom. Thats a win win. Not every suburb can have an NRL team and not every NRL team has the same catchment of Jnrs, and not every future potential NRL player lives in an NRL clubs area. The game needs second tier clubs across the country, and NZ, PNG, Fiji etc, linked to NRL clubs to give development pathways to NRL for the best of the best.

That's where the Queensland Cup have done so well - by finding a way to combine old BRL Brisbane clubs with clubs from country towns/cities (and even getting to add a PNG team!), they've opened up pathways to NRL for players across the state.

It's been a fortunate flow of from having very few Queensland NRL teams - even if the Broncos, Titans, Dolphins & Cowboys used the Qld Cup to get games for their own branded reserve teams, you'd still need at least half a dozen other clubs.

On the other hand with NSW Cup, once you include every NSW NRL clubs self-branded reserve team (and Norths & Newtown who always want a slice of the action) it leaves very little leeway for non-NRL regional centres to participate in that competition - all issues of competitiveness aside.

Nobody is saying every suburb should get a team

but the western coridoor should

and if your being honest ahead of Perth too

Probably largely depends where you live- in country areas you might actually have more access to fields than proper ball courts. Basketball is more conducive to an urban environment.

Slater is from Innisfail... how did the cowboys miss him
