I didn't realise North has played for 5 county sides ... FMD that should serve him well on the tour.

Looked very strong mentally. Probably not the raw talent or power of Symonds at 6, but got his head screwed on about 1000 times harder.

Anyone going to comment on Pup throwing a ton away and playing a horror stroke in a pressure last few overs before end of a session?

Can we spare another 1000 pages on this topic? LOL

And before it gets too hysterical I am only stirring. Played beautifully against the spin. Even shut the ever whinging Nasser Hussain up at one point.

Pup was pretty hard hard on himself in the post match interview.

Very poor shot selection cost him a ton.

Lets face it, it was the only way these hacks could get a wicket

16c today over there, showers in the vicinity

Hope they can get a full or near full days play in

Hopefully North and Haddin can churn out some runs in the morning, Would love to see Johnson get his eye in and smack the ball all over the place especially the spinners and Flintoff :D

Is it just me, or does North remind anyone else of Damian Martin?

Something about him at the crease seems familiar.

So, what sought of lead do we need to get today....and when is the rain predicted? A quick 100 between Haddin and North would certainly set it up for us if the weather doesn't save the pohms!

I still reckon it'll be a draw, whether be due to the weather or our bowlers taking too long to dismiss the English batsman........plus I put money on the draw

So you win either way....Aussies win you lose money but feel bloody good, we draw you win money and we don't lose........lets forget the third option Spike ;-)

I'm pretty confident England's chances of winning the game are worse than getting constipated from eating too much KFC

I reckon we will get 250+ lead, and Haurie will bowl us to a memorable victory

Yep, IMO they will look to score at a rate of 4-4.5rpo and pile on another 200 runs (to get the 25 lead). That will leave them over 4 sessions to bowl out england (give Siddle and Johnston 10 overs before Lunch to bowl at england) and we should be able to dismiss them for less than 300 and leaving us chansing no more than 50 runs to chase.

IMO a draw is more likley ATM, but the bowling of Siddle, Johnston and Hilfy can win us. Haurie will not bowl us to victory, I would actually have North and Kat working in tandom at both ends before throwing the ball to Haurie TBH. What I would give to have Krezja in the team here where runs arnt so important rather wicket taking balls are.

The tomato, black olives and green caps will keep that from happening ;-)
Weather looked alright in Pohmy land a few minutes ago.....cloudy but no rain so far!

Why are they not starting early? Cricket sometimes lacks a real 'common sense' rule. They lost close to 2 hours yesterday, its expected to start raining from midday and remain set in..... yet we arent even starting early to comprimise it.

Agreed. It's a joke, and part of the reason why cricket can be infuriating to watch. They lost two hours yesterday, rain is expected from 1pm today, yet they refuse to start even half an hour early. Ridiculous. The ICC needs to stop taking the piss out of cricket supporters.

BTW, I'm hoping this is a really entertaining session. If the aussies approach this session with the right mindset, there will be runs and probably wickets.

 yeah that was too funny

Im looking forward to the swann - warne comparison next

North on course for a well deserved ton

What an annoying session. England have deliberately slowed the game down (fair enough most countries would), but we havent made any real attempt to push this run rate along. Surely we are not gonna bat past lunch and stuff, with the rain that is forecasted.
