Why are they not starting early? Cricket sometimes lacks a real 'common sense' rule. They lost close to 2 hours yesterday, its expected to start raining from midday and remain set in..... yet we arent even starting early to comprimise it.

Because in England it doesnt get dark untill late, so rather than the spectators miss out by an early start, they add on time at the end of the day

Sensible rule that is the same for all series over there, cant expect it to change just because it might rain later today

What an annoying session. England have deliberately slowed the game down (fair enough most countries would), but we havent made any real attempt to push this run rate along. Surely we are not gonna bat past lunch and stuff, with the rain that is forecasted.

98 runs at almost 4 an over? Dont think its annoying at all

A 200-250 lead would be ideal, then we dont have to worry about the weather or batting again for fear of saving the game, all the pressure is on the poms. You cant play test cricket and short change yourself because of what may happen with the weather, leave that for ODI and 20/20.
