With the shambles of the batting I would not put it past them

NZ batsmen did their best to match them. Fortunately Taylor has matured a hell of a lot over the past year and is beginning to find the consistency to match his skill. Could've been out early though, but for the most part he's picking his moments to attack and defend well.

Should be a stronger batting lineup with Guptil at 3 and Ryder opening the innings.

Worst thing for NZ would be for Katich to be called up to open in place of Marsh. Best thing to happen (and unfortunately the least likely) would be for an out of form Symonds to come in with one of the Hussey's moved up to opener.

Because we batted unbelievably badly and still managed to take them to the very last ball. Kiwis made a meal of that run chase.
So..... We lost :? And lets face it not the best Kiwi side i have seen before.....

He has a point, it shows if the Aussies can make more than about 240 they will win every game comfortably, better yet take the Kiwis out of their comfort zone and put em in if winning the toss

I'm taking it as fate, Hughes on fire killing it infront of one of the selectors and Marsh gets an injury. Get him in the ODI side, Katich in for Dussey.

Ryder back in, McCullum getting a decent run, and suddenly I doubt that

how can symonds be out of form when he isn't playing :?

He played for QLD this/last week. Didn't bowl and couldn't do a thing with the bat. And his brief stint against SA before getting injured was terrible. Normally I'd hate to see Symonds lining uop against the Kiwis. Still have memories of him blasting 150 against them in NZ one time. Where his head is at currently though I'd be happy to see him in the Aussie team.

Our top order underperformed too

McCallum was unlucky- so was Broom, although he had already exceeded my expectations of him at that point

Guptill threw his wicket away and Fulton is capable of better

We had a pretty long tail today, but I think we are capable of scoring bigger totals

A hearty congratulations to the third umpire. Vettori should never have been there to hit the winning runs.
