Butler, Morgan, Woakes and Bopara add a bit - the rest are shell shocked...

I'll admit to being rather ignorant about Carberry, but having watched the test series and also hearing Warne talk him up like he's Michael Beer, I can only ask WTF is he doing near a ODI side..

So i'm guessing the XI will be;

Mr Teeny
Fatty Finch
Shane Wazn
Pup (C)
Bailey
The Big Show
Hadds
Faulkner
Mr Slave
Patto
X / McKay..

Says a lot for Smiffy that he's being viewed more as a test player now as opposed to only a few years ago being the other way round. :thumn

You'd have to wonder where Root is gonna get his runs from after watching him scratch around in the test match for hours for single figures, Carbury too.

KP, Anderson and (originally) Swann were rested.

Anderson I can understand (somewhat... Broad deserves a rest more than him).

But KP? Resting from what?
He faced 591 balls in 10 innings, which is about 10 overs of batting per innings.

Wonder what Lehmann's approach to this series is regarding the test players.

Maybe strengthening batting with a view to the SA tour?

True, but didn't you hear him, the poor dear had played another ashes series only months earlier , needs a good 2 week holiday in Bali

Id say Boof will try and win every game, which is normal
But more importantly will be giving the newbies some motivation to keep the foot on the poms throats :D

He played in ODI series against us last year in England but I didn't remember him doing too much so I did a quick look up on Cricinfo.

Scored 4,1,63 and 30

Didn't Smith carve it up for NSW in the Mercantile Mutual Cup back in October?

Who are you dropping out of the middle order? The one good area in our ODI side. We don't need both Clarke and Smith in the ODI side. They both fill the same role.

Smith is one of the best fielders we have and a good ODI player, cant believe he has been omitted but it may only be for the first few games

That is fine....again who are you dropping. Warner, Finch, Watson, Clarke, Bailey, Big Show, Faulkner....that is our top 7 at full strength. Are you dropping Clarke? Watson is a gun ODI cricketer, unless you plan on dropping Warner I don't see a place for Smith. All those players are good in the field!

Looks like Canada vs Sth Africa.

Am disappointed no throw back Jersey in the merch stalls this summer. Was hoping for the lightning bolts circa 1992-94.

No Show wouldn't be in my team.

How long can you continually play some one based on potential, he's done f**k all.

Averages 34 with a strike rate of 132. What more do you want from a lower order hitter
