Man thats not a dumb post, thats a Lockyesque post.

Kid comes in and has dominated sheffield shield, averages near 60, and plays a nervous shot on debut. Hang the f**ker, clearly he isnt up to standard and should be discarded immediantly:crazy:

He didn't say dump him, he just laughed...

Look at things fromn the outside (of Australia) - endlessly we get these stories of players who would be international greats if they weren't Australian etc etc... or are supoerbly talented and wiull dominate once they get their opportunity

In recent times - Hodge, Hussey, D, Krezja, Hilfenhaus, Bollinger, McGain, Rogers, Jaques, White, North, Ferguson, Haddin, etc etc etc with Hughes being the latest...

Then we see them in international cricket and they range from crap to merely decent cricketers... no doubt Hughes is a talent, but you have to admit that was a comical debut after all the beat up around him

Oh so when 'other players' say something you call it a whinge and when your players talk they can have an opinion? talk about double standards!

he's having a whinge, did you even read it ?

we haven't played any test matches since they left Australia, neither did they = whinge

If any of those players you mentioned had have been born and raised in England they'd be Captain / Coach of the Pommy team by now and that is a fact.

I dont think many of them have been talked up much around here, however the big difference is Hughes is 20 compared to those guys in mid-late 20's at best, and an obviously very very big talent. Of those guys white was sh*t, hodge dominates domestic but has never had a massive go in tests, dhussey i thought would be better than he was, krezja was always expected to suck, hilfenhaus bollinger have hardly had much of a run, Mcgain hasnt even had a game or been talked up as if some savior, rogers has had one test, Jaques haverages about 48 and got injured at the wrong time and North is on debut. Haddin is doing pretty well after a shakey start to his career.

my point was that most of these guys have been talked up to some extent, and ALL look nothing more than good cricketers

Hughes might well be the odd one out, not debating it - but you have to see the comical side of his first performance for those of us that hadn't seen him play but had seen the ravings here and in the likes of the SMH

Actually I think Bobby just showed his complete lack of cricketing knowledge.

where have they been talked up?

you are seriously geniused

just the other day twizzle was saying McGain would definitely make a difference - I had assumed he meant for the better..

Tait was the next big thing as a fast bowler - yes, he's fast...

David Hussey's praises have been sung everywhere, Chris Rogers, the same with Hodge... and you NSW people have been talking Bollinger, Hughes et al up for ages

Hilfenhaus too

Before he came out to NZ, we were even led to believe Cameron WHite was an all-rounder - we're still trying to work out what the basis for that was - he can't bat or bowl

You're the search king, look for yourself

Here is a statement for you, all of the above would walk into the Kiwi team. Even Cameron White who I think is an abysmal cricketer, would get a run for New Zealand.

Last I checked we had Oram, Elliott, Vetorri, Mills all who are all-rounders of sorts... so I think not...

Jaques and Rogers yep, maybe one of the quicks... the spinners are appalling... and Flynn, Ryder, Taylor and Guptill are fine thanks :D

Hodge would get a run, hell i wouldnt be against him being picked for Australia, altho its fair to say he wont be picked again.
