Watson finally out. Watching him bat today was like looking at a half living cat that had been bit by a truck. You knew it was going to die . Slow painful death, it was just a question of how long you stare at its dying carcass before it dropped off.

Given that Watson is 32, that is one aspect of a batsman's game that doesn't get better when they get into their 30s: lack of feet movement (as evidenced by Matthew Hayden and Ricky Ponting in the twilight of their careers)

A shame Jones was never the same bowler. Although he showed glimpses of what he was capable of during the 2005 Ashes, he was never the same bowler after that injury.

He had one good series when they ball tampered. He was otherwise mediocre.

I see Pat Howard has taken some lessons from the David Gallop school of spin doctoring, spitting out the usual canned lines we've been used to hearing since James Sutherland took the helm at CA. Man, I wish I got paid the amount he did to do stuff all for 2 years.

Once again, why the hell does CA have an ex-rugby union player as Team Performance Manager????? I believe this was one of the people at CA who introduced the rotation policy in test matches (and one of the contributing factors to fast bowlers getting hampered with injury).
