I think throughout the game the iffy LBW decisions have gone both ways.

Looks like Cowan will be top scorer this innings.

How is Hughes against spin? Didn't do much this game.
Hughes wasn't fantastic in the first innings but any batsman on the planet could have gotten out to the ball he got out to in the 2nd.

Besides Clarke, noone of the other top 6 have done anything to be picked ahead of Hughes.

Cowan has been mediocre this test and he's been mediocre his entire test career. I'm all for dropping him for Khawaja. Maybe Twatto will play better when he gets what he wants. Khawaja has much more potential than Cowan.

Then bring in Haddin for Wade. Haddin isn't great but I reckon he's got a better chance of doing well on this tour.

Then bring in Doherty for Starc. Starc will not do much to help us get 20 wickets. Doherty might get hit for 200 runs like Lyon, but he might help us get through them twice in a test. I'd back him to get more wickets than Lyon or Starc.

If the selectors and Clarke have any brains, Khawaja, Haddin and Doherty will play in the 2nd test.

Alright. Changes required obviously. But who? Lets not beat around the mulberry bush, we don't have a spinner in any shape or form in the touring squad. The Indians are going to prepare pitches that are conductive to spin and batsmen who can play on them. Clarke is the only batsman capable of playing a long innings against spin. I've got no idea of who to bring in. If you bring in Khawaja for Henriques to stiffen the batting you lose a bowler and we are struggling big time to get 20 wickets.

Our spinning options are laughable. Lyon, X, Big Show and Smiff.

We are rooted.

I think our batting needs to improve a lot especially in the first dig

I can see steve Smith and Maxwell coming in, replace who? Sunshine may be unavailable, drop Hughes?

Id bring in Bird for either starc or siddle

oh and express jet for SOK

I think the selectors will bring in The Show for Henriques, not because Henriques has done badly but because The Show is a spinner. I can see them dropping Starc for Notch.

I can see Cowan dumped Watto* to open and Khawaja in at 5.

If he's not going home, if he is Khawaja bats 4 and Cowan stays.

I think Henriques has shown he deserves to be there, he and Clarke are the only two who looked really comfortable playing the spin. I also think the batting wasn't the issue here, 380 and what looks like maybe being 200 are good innings on this cow paddock.

Changes have to come from the bowlers. Starc should go and Siddle should be closely looked at. No idea who to bring in but if the Hyderabad pitch is anything like this one we can't go in with 3 seamers. Especially not these 3.

Lyon will be kept on virtue of being the only spinner in the squad worth a shit but he did not perform.
