I think throughout the game the iffy LBW decisions have gone both ways.
Besides Clarke, noone of the other top 6 have done anything to be picked ahead of Hughes.
Cowan has been mediocre this test and he's been mediocre his entire test career. I'm all for dropping him for Khawaja. Maybe Twatto will play better when he gets what he wants. Khawaja has much more potential than Cowan.
Then bring in Haddin for Wade. Haddin isn't great but I reckon he's got a better chance of doing well on this tour.
Then bring in Doherty for Starc. Starc will not do much to help us get 20 wickets. Doherty might get hit for 200 runs like Lyon, but he might help us get through them twice in a test. I'd back him to get more wickets than Lyon or Starc.
If the selectors and Clarke have any brains, Khawaja, Haddin and Doherty will play in the 2nd test.
Hughes wasn't fantastic in the first innings but any batsman on the planet could have gotten out to the ball he got out to in the 2nd.Looks like Cowan will be top scorer this innings.
How is Hughes against spin? Didn't do much this game.
