It's the only way he knows how to play I suppose. Useful if you have a lead.

Because the rules dont allow it

Yeah they do.

3rd umpire can call no balls on any wicket delivery. Just not overrule no balls called on the field. An on field ump can ask 3rd ump to look at anything that is not player reviewable (whether ball hit bat and lbw). 4s, 6s, catches, run outs, no balls, etc can be referred to 3rd ump.

Perhaps Southee could have used the practice of trying to hang around and not go the slog, for when his team really needs it

I don't think some of you Kiwis are giving the Aussies enough credit. Khawaja and Voges in awesome form, throw in Warner and Smith, it's a very strong batting line up. Probably as strong as its been in the last decade. You're going to have to do a lot right to win against that line up. Maybe it's just a case of the Aussies being too good rather than he Kiwis lacking fight.

lmao but thats not what happened. He called no ball on the field. What you are asking is why didnt he refer it upstairs before calling no ball. I dont know he must have thought it was a no ball lol

Look at the replays. I have.

The bails have flown everywhere before he calls it by moving the arm. Never an oral call. A possible no ball is examined on all wickets.

Tough the rules are the rules. The umpire f**ked up but hey thats cricket and he clearly called no ball on the field. Are you blind.

I know that you are heading towards an innings defeat and you are sad but show some f**king dignity lol

Watch the replays.

I have.

Can you read?

I know he makes an in field call, but he makes it late

So what.

He (thought he) saw the no ball and his reaction to put out the arm was slightly slower than the 0.4 second of the time the ball took from bowlers hand to wickets. Deal with it.

Craig should consider going the Richardson route and becoming a batsman. Looks much better at batting than bowling.

And ?

He still called no ball on the field.

A late one that was not necessary when 3rd ump could look at it.

That is the point.

Disagree with the point, but the facts are the facts.

I've looked closely at the numerous replays with stump mics on.

Wait until it happens to your team.

Then you'll think about the absurdity of it all.

I am sure its happened to Australia. What does it matter. You win some and you lose some with the umpires.
