We always play them very early in the summer before school holidays start.

Also the two cities with the biggest Kiwi expat populations are Melbourne and Sydney, where we never play them.

"We" is the key word

It is their summer as well, hence why we play them earlier here, and they play their tests over their summer holidays

CA (and other bodies) do need to generate and then sell the drama of Test cricket though. Not only for the good of the game, but also for future revenue. It’s a beautiful (and surely, thus, a marketable) thing.

Maybe I am just deluded and optimistic about the marketability of Test cricket

Watch the bbl matches get regular huge crowds, across the 59 matches

go back 10 years you would laugh that domestic cricket would ever do that over international cricket

All about demand, the target market is huge for this format eg families/kids

As much as I wanted Williamson to go on and get a ton there, I’m glad it’s gone back in the face of the commentators presumption that he would score 100 from the moment he strode out

Smithy taking the cheerleader thing too far - getting annoying.

I get that he's a proud NZ cricketer, but he's supposed to be a commentator, and presumably the lead guy... he's becoming an Ian Healy/Michael Slater light - when he should be watching Richie Benaud footage...

He's much better when NZ not involved, unfortunately...

Said it before (already) this summer - God I miss Benaud!!

LOL, guess that was Russell Arnold? He's usually good, might just have gotten sick of Smith's endless NZ bias
